Maggie is now 3 years old and reflux free (knock on wood). I still check in some to see how everybody is doing :) Hugs to all!
I love y'all (guess who LOL)
I'll try to make this short and painless. My director left me a message asking about my mil and my "status" for tomorrow. I returned her call but also had to leave a message. I basically said that I need to talk with her about making some kind of arrangement for me to spend some time with my family right now. I said "I'm having a hard time finding middle ground between being a full-time employee and being with my family". I told her that I intend to work tomorrow if nothing happens, but that I need for her to find some time to sit down and talk with me about my future there.

My boss from mmo (the job I quit) kept Morgan for me today from 230-730. She's the bomb! She wasn't always accomodating but she would never tell me that I can't go to the hospital and be with my family. I talked to her about being a sub and being at the top of the list so I'll get a lot of calls. She said I could. She said she already needs somebody 3 days next week. I could do that....be off at 115, free childcare, and not have to send Morgan to hwc. I know some of you are wondering why I quit. I guess I was STUPID! I wanted full time $$ and benefits and I wanted a "better" program for Mags. Oh well, I guess I got some of that.

Any way, I will probably quit tomorrow. We'll see.

ON TO THE IMPORTANT STUFF: my mil is not off the vent yet. They are gonna work on it again tomorrow. They're gonna make some changes in her meds, etc etc. I'm trying so hard to be positive. It just seems so much like what we went through with my stepdad.

Allergic to dairy, soy, eggs, wheat, all treenuts, peanuts, fish, shellfish, peas, sesame, bananas, barley, coconut, dust, dust mite, dog, cat, latex. Seasonal allergies. Oral Allergy Syndrome (OAS). Louise will make your doctor a homemade pie if you would like her to. PHOTO: We couldn't do a cake on Sebastian's birthday, but that didn't stop him from tossing around the contents of a big bowl of popcorn! He now tries to eat it when we play with popcorn, so no more of that game.... :(
Thanks for the update, Melissa. I'm keeping you MIL in my thoughts and prayers. I support you in whatever you do about your job!!

Dh and I just pretty much decided that I'm gonna be civil, see what she has to offer me for tomorrow, work Friday and that will be it. I get paid Friday....I will tell them to mail me my last check. I just can't do it any more and all of your advice about my family coming first was sooo helpful. I don't give myself credit. I'm always thinking that I'm being unreasonable.

Oh Melissa! I am so sorry things with this job aren't seeming to work out. You need to do what's best for you and your family and not feel bad about it! You wanted to try something new, and you did and now you can make an informed decision on where to go from here.

So sorry to her that your mil isn't off the vent yet. Stay strong for you dh! I am thinking of you!

I'm sorry. What did I misunderstand. I must be having a "blonde moment"

katiesmommy
Tracey, mom to Katie. Diagnosed with reflux at 3 weeks and put on Zantac. At 8 months old she was removed from Zantac as it was giving her migraines, currently on Prevacid. Switched to Elecare since she is not gaining weight; trialing solids after being off for a month. Geneticist said reason she isn't gaining weight is she is stubborn. Upcoming appts.: Neurologist for developmental delay and EGD scheduled for September. She is one funny baby!

So sorry Melissa! If it will work out it sounds like the subbing position might be a better fit.

Praying for your MIL and your family!

You're not blonde Jess...are you? My mil isn't ok....

I just thought of this....Maggie's tuition is $70 and Morgan's for yesterday is $10. That's $80 that will come out of my check this week. If I go in and work two half days for the rest of the week, I'll only bring home like $50. I DON'T THINK IT'S WORTH IT!!! I think I'm officially done. I think I will just not go back. It's not like me to just leave a job that way, but it seems to be the norm there. I will have to go get my check Friday but oh well....so be it. I may even call them and have them mail it to me.

We'll see in the morning I guess.

I GOT IT!!! LOL
I missed the word "not" in the phrase....sorry. :-(

I actaully ahve dardk blonde hair. I dye it brown and it loks better on me that my natural color..LOL

I hope the vent weaning will go well soon. It's soo hard to see them on the vent.....:( do they have her sedated for it or are they still weaning that down too. I remmeber you saying that she was nodding to you all the other day. HUGE HUGS

I totally understand NOT working...it's just not worth it. I understand. Having that many kids is extermely taxing on a person. Esp. without the proper aides in the room. Kids are alot of work...LOL

Well, they are weaning the sedative too. She was very aggitated today. I've been reading the stuff on that site and naturally it says that patients are easily agitated. She has nodded that she doesn't want her dh rubbing her or talking to her and that site says that's normal. I'm printing it out to show him :) He thinks she is mad at him for having her on the tube.

I talked to her about Morgan today. I started to cry so I had to stop talking for a minute. I told her that I was gonna bring pics and a recording for her. I told her that Morgan is doing well for her teacher. She "smiled" and I saw a tear roll down her face. She loves Morgan more than anything and if anyone can turn her around...it's Morgan. It's bad that Morgan can't be there and doesn't need to be under the circumstances.

Morgan has been recordingherself being silly on an old cell phone of mine. I'm gonna get dh to take it to her tomorrow (if I don't go). She can listen to it while she's awake if the nurses will play it for her or I guess we can do it when we go in there. I pray it will help and they will allow it if it does help.

I told my dh that when she comes out of this...our relationship is gonna be so different. I swear it will. I am not just saying that. I just pray it's not too late.

Picture: This is what happens when you raise a kid on health food and they get ahold of a Coke! Bad mom, that soda is NOT on the reflux diet.
UPDATE: Isaiah is now 12 and off meds! He is doing great, eating again and hopefully will be catching up in the growing department. I am still in the "hoping it sticks" phase, but we're so happy that he's better!
(((((hugs))))) and more (((((hugs))))) I think you are making the right decision about work. I am praying for your MIL...and I am also thinking hard about my own and how I'd feel in your shoes. It would be so scary to think of losing her! I am so glad that you got to be with her today, You're an amazing wife and mommy and I know things will get better!

So many things we wish we would have done/said, done differently etc when someone we love passes or there is some tragic accident or illness. Live every day like the people you love may not be here tomorrow. i try to make sure that when I say goodbye to someone that we are on good terms and that it is a heartfelt good bye. Hopefully Morgan's voice will cheer her up and that she will just get better and better. And on the job front, just make sure you really want to burn that bridge....leaving without notice could hurt you in the future if a new place wants references! But I am glad you have made the decision that is right for your family, in leaving.

Yeah, Sharon, I hate to burn bridges, but they left me no choice with this one. I did tell the asst dir this morning that "if she will just give me today and tomorrow to think this over, I might change my mind" but that's pretty much a lie. I've made up my mind.

She said "YOU'RE A GOOD TEACHER YOU CAN DO THIS" I told her that's not the issue. I said "I just can't handle the stress every day of dealing with 29 kids." I told her that I'm going back to the small groups at the small school.
