Tracey, mom to Katie. Diagnosed with reflux at 3 weeks and put on Zantac. At 8 months old she was removed from Zantac as it was giving her migraines, currently on Prevacid. Switched to Elecare since she is not gaining weight; trialing solids after being off for a month. Geneticist said reason she isn't gaining weight is she is stubborn. Upcoming appts.: Neurologist for developmental delay and EGD scheduled for September. She is one funny baby!
Is there an echo in here??

I haven't been posting much lately as the days seem to only be about 3 hours long but I have been keeping up with everyone and you are in my prayers even if I don't post it.

I read the post about the ravages of pregnancy and breastfeeding. I am not bragging although my husband will; I got bigger even though I am done breastfeeding. One problem is that I don't know any strippers so I have to buy my bras at Nordstrom at 80 dollars on sale. Soooo not bragging! My stomach did get very stretched out and I have A LOT of loose skin that Katie was playing with today. She then put her mouth up to my belly button (which no longer resembles itself but a deflated balloon) and started yelling into it! She then looks at me and laughs and does it again! I really do think she was expecting it to echo. It's nice to know that my once tight beautiful stomach can now entertain my child with its saggyness! :)

Melissa - Mommy to Sebastian, born 9/28/07 @ 7 lbs 7 oz and 20.75 in. At docs at 12 months: 27 pounds and 32 in! Good grief! GERD - currently on Prevacid suspension (liquid equivalent of 45 mg a day). Allergic to dairy, soy, eggs, wheat, all treenuts, peanuts, fish, shellfish, peas, sesame, bananas, barley, coconut, dust, dust mite, dog, cat, latex. Seasonal allergies. Oral Allergy Syndrome (OAS). Neocate only - no solids - until further notice (drinks and loves water, too). Loves his doggie, our rescued Treeing Walker Coonhound, Louise, even though he is allergic to her. Louise will make your doctor a homemade pie if you would like her to. PHOTO: We couldn't do a cake on Sebastian's birthday, but that didn't stop him from tossing around the contents of a big bowl of popcorn! He now tries to eat it when we play with popcorn, so no more of that game.... :(
It's a good thing all our kids are so damn cute...or otherwise, they'd be in for it! I was in Target with my husband buying diapers today, and I stopped and picked up a size 34A bra (actually, I picked up about 40 of them, since I had Sebastian on my back in the Ergo and he pulled them all down off the the rack). Anyway, I was like...here is my new size! Sniffle. I was once a very nice B. I never, ever wanted bigger boobs, but I didn't want to relive sixth grade, either!

Our 1 year old daughter has silent reflux, hypotonia as well as benign external hydrocephalus. We are currently weaning onto whole milk (we'll see if it works) and she is also on Prevacid 15mg per day.
My MIL asks me if they make bra's in MY SIZE. Gee thanks! And yes all stores do because I'm not THAT large. Good lord. I remember once when I was pregnant she thought my boobs would cause me to have a heart attack and that would harm my unborn daughter. The funny thing is SHE'S LARGER THAN ME!!!!! I use to have a nice flat stomach and now I got this little pouch/loose skin over my c-section scar. I have no idea how that's suppose to go away w/ out plastic surgery. :(

Ladies~ It could be worse... Have you ever seen Kate's post belly after having the sextuplets on Jon and Kate plus 8. It was a butt in the front. Lucky for her she is on TV and a plastic surg. offered free of charge to fix it. That has to be nice. I'd love to have free lypo.

I never wanted larger but after three they are huge. Melissa I would gladly donate some of it to you.

ethan's mom
Meridith, mom to Ethan born 4/23/08. Ethan was diagnosed with reflux at about 1 month. He has been on Zantac (unsuccessful) and Prevacid. He is currently taking 7.5 mg of Prevacid 2x per day, with good results. We also suspect MPI, though this hasn't been confirmed by a doctor yet.
Ethan is mostly breastfed, though we are doing one bottle of soy formula each day. We also do some homeade "solids' including, so far pears, avocado, sweet potato, and peaches.

I'm right there with you all, but I'm pretty sure that my post baby weight loss has come to a dramatic halt. I seem to believe that since I can't have ice cream (no milk to help Ethan's tummy), that I can eat as much as I want of everything else.

Mary & Nicholas 7-17-03 (non-refluxer)allergies, asthma on Singulair and Flovent & Aidan 1-28-07(my refluxer)Nissen Fundoplication on June 20, 2008, FTT, MSPI, DGE, ear tubes, allergies and severe GERD now currently taking just Prevacid and drinking Elecare Vanilla 1+.
My boys love to play with my belly too. They call it my jiggle belly because it moves like jello jigglers do. lol~! My oldest asked shortly after giving birth to his brother if I had another baby in my big belly. He also asks when we come home from the gym if I worked out hard enough to get rid of my jiggle belly. If only it were that easy. So just be thankful she can't talk yet. I am also greatful that my extra flab can provide endless entertainment for the under 5 crowd.

You ladies are wonderful, u make me laugh and feel better all at the same time. It seems u r describing my body. I wasn't sure if the pouch over C-section is a norm or a butch from an emergency c-section. Guess I know now. My scar is zig-zag so my pouch goes down in an angel to the left lol. My daughter is so funny she looks, say OH and then starts shaking it. Glad it has some use.
Check with your
doctor first!
