I am Jacky, mommy to Joslyn Olivia (April 2008) and Katelyn Isabel (November 2009).
Joslyn was dx'ed with Silent Reflux with breath apnea at 5 days old. VERY SCARY!
Katelyn is a spitter reflux baby. Started at 3 days old as well. (Both were/are breast fed.. symptoms came on when my milk came in).
Joslyn has been reflux free since she was 12 months (suffered poor weight gain for a few months) and Katelyn is now on Zantac... waiting to see if it works.
about me... OT
Okay, I have read the books... I know it can happen. But I just did not hink of it happening to me. I remember thinking "ohhhh poor women! that has got to stink for them!" And low and behold.... it has happened to me. Yes ladies that is right. Following the birth of our miracle DD, no matter if I just went 2 seconds before or an hour ago. When I sneeze or have a hard core cough......... I LEAK! I feel I need to use a diaper! Not a big leak... just enough to have to change. Oh how I love my DD!! Only for her would I put my body through this! Okay now that I am embarrassed just enough....... I am going outside with my dh and dd and our furbaby. Jacky

Prevacid Free since September 08

lol, that is too funny. Not about the peeing part but the fact that they DO wreck you, don't they?? I was blessed with chronic hives from pregnancy and am the rare percent for whom they don't go away. I have to take pills every day or suffer the wrath of being allergic to my child, LOL!

Picture: This is what happens when you raise a kid on health food and they get ahold of a Coke! Bad mom, that soda is NOT on the reflux diet.
UPDATE: Isaiah is now 12 and off meds! He is doing great, eating again and hopefully will be catching up in the growing department. I am still in the "hoping it sticks" phase, but we're so happy that he's better!
oh, man....hives?!? Yuk! Jacky, I have the pee issue, too. I hate it! Some days are worse than others, but yikes. It stinks to have to be afraid to sneeze!

Melissa - Mommy to Sebastian, born 9/28/07 @ 7 lbs 7 oz and 20.75 in. At docs at 12 months: 27 pounds and 32 in! Good grief! GERD - currently on Prevacid suspension (liquid equivalent of 45 mg a day). Allergic to dairy, soy, eggs, wheat, all treenuts, peanuts, fish, shellfish, peas, sesame, bananas, barley, coconut, dust, dust mite, dog, cat, latex. Seasonal allergies. Oral Allergy Syndrome (OAS). Neocate only - no solids - until further notice (drinks and loves water, too). Loves his doggie, our rescued Treeing Walker Coonhound, Louise, even though he is allergic to her. Louise will make your doctor a homemade pie if you would like her to. PHOTO: We couldn't do a cake on Sebastian's birthday, but that didn't stop him from tossing around the contents of a big bowl of popcorn! He now tries to eat it when we play with popcorn, so no more of that game.... :(
Honestly, Sebastian wrecked my fabulous boobs. I'm not sure if that is worse than the pee issue or not (I don't have that, but I think that is because it would be too cruel, being that I already have the empty tube sock boobs). I think I willw rite a poem about them on here one day.

Oh, man...ladies, can we please have a wake for our poor boobs? I, too, had perfect boobs pre baby. I have three wonderful kiddos, but they sucked the life out of my poor bust. WAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can anyone say...Miracle Bra???!!!

Jennifer - 1st time mom. Lauren (6/1/07) diagnosed 9/07 with GER at 3 1/2 months. Prevacid 7.5 mg in the am. Currently drinking whole milk and eating great!!
No longer aspirating! Yippee!
Picture: Why would Lauren play with the hundreds of dollars worth of toys scattered in my living room?!?! When she could play in a box! Estimated move date: Oct. 3rd!
I know exactly what you are talking about Jacky! I actually squeeze my legs together sometimes before I sneeze!! It totally stinks. I love my dd too, but come on! I remember in the midst of my post-partum sobbing one day and my dh asking what was wrong, and sobbing to him, "I can't hold my urine" and he really didn't know what to say! For a month after she was born I would think about peeing, and out it would come!

Donnessa, mom to Halley born 3/10/07
Reflux (mostly) resolved at 14 months
and Addison born 8/17/09. Currently exclusively bf and on 7.5mg Prevacid
This is the funniest topic ever!! I really have to concentrate to keep from just peeing if I feel like going. I think there are better potty trained 2 year olds! And the boobs - oh the boobs ****wah*****

PICTURE: Aubrey in her cute cat outfit. If you look you can see how her right foot turns in. She walks that way as well. It is not as exaggerated in the morning's but gets worse in the evenings. This was after her nap.
OK-Did y'all ever do or do you currently do kegels? Help to strengthen those pee muscles. I learned it when taking my Natural Childbirth-The Bradley class. I wouldn't think it is too late to start them. I did them before even having kids, during pg and post pg-even now-and don't have the pee issue. Boobs now that is a whole other topic. But I don't have those now. ANyhow, best part of kegels is it is an exercise you can do anywhere and no one has to know! I wonder if you could google it and try them now.

Sign me up for the empty tube sock boobs. I was a D/DD (yes I had big ens) and now am barely a B. I NEVER wore a padded or push up bra until 30. Now that is backwards!

Yep...the pee problem. I wear panty liners daily just incase. My other issue is the "hemmi's" ((blush)) When do those go away?! As for boobs, I must be the odd ball. Mine have stayed huge after nursing...ugh... too big for my taste!

Chris: Mom to Rayna Marie our little miracle born June 13, 2007. 7lbs 12oz. Diagnosed with GERD after ph probe at 5 weeks. Current weight 21lbs 8 oz. Prevacid 8ml in a.m. 2% milk
Ummm...... Rayna comes up to me and squeezes my boob (really hard too!) and says "ball?", I really don't want her to say boob, so I correct her by saying belly - the "girls" are pretty much just hanging down there anyways!! I never try to hold it anymore, I 'll be half way out the door and I'll turn around and say to DH, oh, I better go pee, he just rolls his eyes. But I can blame both problems on DD and old age (40)

I seriously thought you were going to say you were pg with another miracle baby! I did not have the pee problem (but I had a c-section) but I went from a D while nursing to barely a B, as in I probably need to downgrade my bra size again *sniff* but I can't imagine buying smaller than a B!!! I don't even have a handful now!!
Check with your
doctor first!
