Our 1 year old daughter has silent reflux, hypotonia as well as benign external hydrocephalus. We are currently weaning onto whole milk (we'll see if it works) and she is also on Prevacid 15mg per day.
Teething or Reflux?
So yesterday for the first time- Keira refused to eat solids. She NEVER refuses solids. She'd drink her bottles but wouldn't take her solids. I even varied them and she would turn her head and start fussing. What the heck? She didn't have her "wet burps" or silent reflux (that I could tell) or hiccups that she'd usually have if it was a flare. I haven't dared to try it again today yet.

I am Jacky, mommy to Joslyn Olivia (April 2008) and Katelyn Isabel (November 2009).
Joslyn was dx'ed with Silent Reflux with breath apnea at 5 days old. VERY SCARY!
Katelyn is a spitter reflux baby. Started at 3 days old as well. (Both were/are breast fed.. symptoms came on when my milk came in).
Joslyn has been reflux free since she was 12 months (suffered poor weight gain for a few months) and Katelyn is now on Zantac... waiting to see if it works.
maybe teething.... Joslyn does the hiccups and wet burbs too... so I know that symptom. I would try the solids again. Some babies do that. Let us know!

Jessica, Mommy to Jedd, severe reflux, severe food and oral aversions, Finally G tube free!!! VSD repair 4-24-07 (open heart surgery), hypospadias, repaired 3 times and Ear tubes Visit Jedd at his CB site: www.caringbridge.org/visit/jedd
I Think it's Both..LOL
Jedd is getting his 2yr molars and it is causing a reflux flare.

IMHO teething causes reflux to flare up pretty good.

So I t hink it's both.

Teething does cause a serious flare up of spasms and reflux for megan. She just got tooth # 14 at 16 months today.

This is our dd, Alessandra. Dx with GER 10/07. Ran the gamut with meds and now done with them (crossed fingers). Using magnesium, probiotics and prebiotic supplements. With the exception of teething and general sassy attitude, all is well now. They really CAN grow out of it!
I go with jedd'smommy - we get this during the teething, even if the teeth aren't ready to pop through. It changes though - sometimes she'll refuse bottles and inhale solids, and the next it may be vice versa.

Melissa - Mommy to Sebastian, born 9/28/07 @ 7 lbs 7 oz and 20.75 in. At docs at 12 months: 27 pounds and 32 in! Good grief! GERD - currently on Prevacid suspension (liquid equivalent of 45 mg a day). Allergic to dairy, soy, eggs, wheat, all treenuts, peanuts, fish, shellfish, peas, sesame, bananas, barley, coconut, dust, dust mite, dog, cat, latex. Seasonal allergies. Oral Allergy Syndrome (OAS). Neocate only - no solids - until further notice (drinks and loves water, too). Loves his doggie, our rescued Treeing Walker Coonhound, Louise, even though he is allergic to her. Louise will make your doctor a homemade pie if you would like her to. PHOTO: We couldn't do a cake on Sebastian's birthday, but that didn't stop him from tossing around the contents of a big bowl of popcorn! He now tries to eat it when we play with popcorn, so no more of that game.... :(
Sebastian used to refuse bottles and solids when he was teething...but of course, he now hasn't gotten a tooth for going on five months! WTH? Seven and then nothing since 6 months. And he still gets an attitude with me and is chewing on everythin glike crazy. And today, he puked up water on my bed and then decided to play in it. Wait- I digress. I meant to just say that it could very well be the teething. She might not like how the food or bottles feel on her gums when her mouth is already sooooo sensitive. Hope she sprouts a mouthful of chompers ASAP.

Coyle Eagan. One Year Old. Doing well on Cow's Milk flavored with juice :) Drinking two bottles of Go&Grow daily. Eating solids better but still have rough days. No More Silent Reflux-that I can hear anyway.. but puking again. Zantac 2ML 2X daily.
it could either be teething or an independence issue. does she finger feed?

Donnessa, mom to Halley born 3/10/07
Reflux (mostly) resolved at 14 months
and Addison born 8/17/09. Currently exclusively bf and on 7.5mg Prevacid
I vote for teething. This has happened to us every time a tooth gets ready to pop through (and my sister is dealing with the same problem with my nephew). Poor little things...
