Jennifer - 1st time mom. Lauren (6/1/07) diagnosed 9/07 with GER at 3 1/2 months. Prevacid 7.5 mg in the am. Currently drinking whole milk and eating great!!
No longer aspirating! Yippee!
Picture: Why would Lauren play with the hundreds of dollars worth of toys scattered in my living room?!?! When she could play in a box! Estimated move date: Oct. 3rd!
And Now We Have A RASH!!! uggg
Well, I am home from work today. No doubt, being frowned upon by my school district for "extending a vacation" -- as if!

This morning when we got Lauren out of bed she is covered in a rash. It's worst all around her diaper area, under her arms, neck, crease of her elbows and on her hairline. It appears to be more "hivey" (if that's a word) than anything else. First thing I thought of was Maggie and her reaction to Augmentum. The second thing I thought of is Roseola? I am calling the pedi for an appointment at 9 am when they open. AND we are still having blow out diarrhea - 9 times yesterday. Hopefully, they get us in fairly early!

Melissa - Mommy to Sebastian, born 9/28/07 @ 7 lbs 7 oz and 20.75 in. At docs at 12 months: 27 pounds and 32 in! Good grief! GERD - currently on Prevacid suspension (liquid equivalent of 45 mg a day). Allergic to dairy, soy, eggs, wheat, all treenuts, peanuts, fish, shellfish, peas, sesame, bananas, barley, coconut, dust, dust mite, dog, cat, latex. Seasonal allergies. Oral Allergy Syndrome (OAS). Neocate only - no solids - until further notice (drinks and loves water, too). Loves his doggie, our rescued Treeing Walker Coonhound, Louise, even though he is allergic to her. Louise will make your doctor a homemade pie if you would like her to. PHOTO: We couldn't do a cake on Sebastian's birthday, but that didn't stop him from tossing around the contents of a big bowl of popcorn! He now tries to eat it when we play with popcorn, so no more of that game.... :(
Hey Jennifer. Poor Lauren! Is it raised? Scaly? Are their little pimply centers with red rings around them? How did are they? Do they appear to itch?

they are slightly raised, but don't seem to bother her. No rings or pimply centers. Some are small, some are big. The ones on her back look like little bumps, then there's on under her eye that looks like a big mosquito bite.

I did give her a ton of yogurt yesterday too...could it be a reaction to that?

Yes, this is the first time for Augmentim. I got an appointment for 11 am this morning -- with her doctor this time, not the nurse practitioner that I talked to yesterday who told me to keep giving her the Aug. !

Jessica, Mommy to Jedd, severe reflux, severe food and oral aversions, Finally G tube free!!! VSD repair 4-24-07 (open heart surgery), hypospadias, repaired 3 times and Ear tubes Visit Jedd at his CB site: www.caringbridge.org/visit/jedd
I hope you appt goes well. If it was Roseolo (sp?) than you would have seen a HIGH temp for about 3-4 days prior to the rash. Taht's what it was for us. We actually never saw Jedd's rash when he had it.

Hope you get some answers.

It sounds to me like a reaction to the antibiotic rather than to the yogurt. Doesn't really seem like a food rash from that - but I am no doctor (jus tlike Sebastian's GI) I think she may have had other problems with dairy before if it were that...let me know what the pedi says!

Pedi confirms - Allergic Reaction to Augmentum! She stopped all anti's for now and we doing Benadryl around the clock for 24 hours. She took photos in the office and emailed them to me so I can compare the rash later. They gave her first dose of Ben. in the office and I think she already looks better!

Pedi also confirms that we have two top molars coming in now too! These teeth are really getting ridiculous! That's 8 teeth in 3 weeks!

I'm glad that you were able to get some answers! Hopefully she'll be better (rash-wise anyway) by tomorrow. I hear ya on the teeth - Halley's two top molars and one of her canines has popped through within the last two weeks. It's been 8 months since she got her last tooth!
Check with your
doctor first!
