Donnessa, mom to Halley born 3/10/07
Reflux (mostly) resolved at 14 months
and Addison born 8/17/09. Currently exclusively bf and on 7.5mg Prevacid
Question about ear tube surgery Thursday
We have opted to have Halley's adenoids removed when her tubes are put in Thursday. Tonight I noticed that she has that strange smell coming from her ears that usually means an infection. Will they do the surgery if she has a current infection? I'm not sure we'll ever be able to hit a window when she doesn't have one...

My name is being used fraudently to ill represent me. Please be cautious of any information you receive with my name. including,,, anything from anyone claiming to be Engi Nowaira online. Otherwise, I will be representing myself in person so that everyone will have opportunity to identify me in person.
My previous drivers license was also stolen. The new one has extra security features on it.
All the procedures we have done for Megan and asked, they told us as long as she does not have a fever or active breathing problems, they don't care. I hope the tubes help her and the adenoid removal.

Mary & Nicholas 7-17-03 (non-refluxer)allergies, asthma on Singulair and Flovent & Aidan 1-28-07(my refluxer)Nissen Fundoplication on June 20, 2008, FTT, MSPI, DGE, ear tubes, allergies and severe GERD now currently taking just Prevacid and drinking Elecare Vanilla 1+.
Yes Aidan had infected fluid in both ears at time of surgery. I think it is pretty common. I hope the surgery brings her lots of relief.

Jessica, Mommy to Jedd, severe reflux, severe food and oral aversions, Finally G tube free!!! VSD repair 4-24-07 (open heart surgery), hypospadias, repaired 3 times and Ear tubes Visit Jedd at his CB site:
Yep we were told the same thing. As a matter of fact NOONE would give Jedd and RX for his E.I. before tube surgery. The only thing we were given was an RX for the drops. They worked great and actually cleared him up before surgery. They also hleped to keep him out of pain as well until the tubes were put in.

Everytime my 4 have had tubes in they have all had infections. The good thing is that if the infection is there they will clean it out with the suction while they are in there. They may still have a little drainage but the drops will cure that. You will be so pleased with your decision. I would not think twice about having them done again on any of my children. I will tell you that some children have a reaction to the Verset. (SP??) Maddie did not have it the 1st time and did the 2nd. The 1st she was as happy as could be when she came out but the second time I left the hospital with her screaming b/c we couldn't calm her. Since then I have refused it with every child. They are as normal as can be when they wake up and not loopy and drunk. I know when i had it with my gall bladder surgery I felt awful. HTH if your drs use this medicine. I just wanted to share my experience with you. I would rather have mine cry when they take them from me for a few mins vs. the way they feel when they wake up. Praying and thinking of you guys. Carla

GERD - currently on Prevacid suspension (liquid equivalent of 45 mg a day). Allergic to dairy, soy, eggs, wheat, all treenuts, peanuts, fish, shellfish, peas, sesame, bananas, barley, coconut, dust, dust mite, dog, cat, latex. Seasonal allergies. Oral Allergy Syndrome (OAS). Neocate only - no solids - until further notice (drinks and loves water, too). Loves his doggie, our rescued Treeing Walker Coonhound, Louise, even though he is allergic to her. Louise will make your doctor a homemade pie if you would like her to. PHOTO: We couldn't do a cake on Sebastian's birthday, but that didn't stop him from tossing around the contents of a big bowl of popcorn! He now tries to eat it when we play with popcorn, so no more of that game.... :(
I don't know enough to add anything, but I did want to say good luck with the surgery on Thursday!!! I"ll be looking for updates!
