Maggie is now 3 years old and reflux free (knock on wood). I still check in some to see how everybody is doing :) Hugs to all!
Never say never?
Hold me to this...I will never say another ugly thing about my mil again.

I swear, I never knew how important she is to me till now. She had her bypass surgery yesterday morning. The surgery went well. Her heart is working great.

Her lungs are a different story. They have her on a lot of oxygen and her lungs aren't taking it all in. When they tried to take the vent off, her stats dropped so they had to put it back on. She is heavily sedated to keep her calm for "a few days" supposedly.

I watched my stepdad lie in the hospital for 30 days and eventually pass bc they never could get him off the vent.

On a positive note, dh said that they backed of the sedation a bit and she was nodding to them when they asked questions.

Y'all, she gets on my nerves but I am not ready for Morgan to have to say goodbye to her Gran. I will be completely honest and say that it'd be easier for Morgan to say goodbye to me. Her Gran means the world to her and that's not a road I'm ready to go down. She absolutely has to be ok.

My bitch of a boss is making me work tomorrow, but if I have the guts I'm gonna be really ugly. It will all depend on the report I get in the morning. If she's doing great, then I won't be ugly. I will just try to get through my day. If she's still not doing well, I'm gonna tell her that I'm leaving at 230 and she can stick it. Seriously...I do need $$ but I refuse to work my rear end off for someone that won't let me have a day to be with my dh when his mom is in ccu.

Oh Melissa, I hope that she recovers quickly. I hear you on the grandparent thing - my mil and I aren't particularly tight, but I would hate for H to lose her Nana so early. I'll send some extra prayers up tonight.

Praying for you and you opened some light on my end also. My in laws aren't close to me at all but like last week she came over at 1 am when she got off of work and stayed with the kids while I took Michael to the ER. Maybe I look at the wrong picture and don't give them a chance. Thanks for the wake up call Melissa.

I will pray for you guys and update when you can. I will pray also your boss has more sympathy and compassion. Carla

Melissa - Mommy to Sebastian, born 9/28/07 @ 7 lbs 7 oz and 20.75 in. At docs at 12 months: 27 pounds and 32 in! Good grief! GERD - currently on Prevacid suspension (liquid equivalent of 45 mg a day). Allergic to dairy, soy, eggs, wheat, all treenuts, peanuts, fish, shellfish, peas, sesame, bananas, barley, coconut, dust, dust mite, dog, cat, latex. Seasonal allergies. Oral Allergy Syndrome (OAS). Neocate only - no solids - until further notice (drinks and loves water, too). Loves his doggie, our rescued Treeing Walker Coonhound, Louise, even though he is allergic to her. Louise will make your doctor a homemade pie if you would like her to. PHOTO: We couldn't do a cake on Sebastian's birthday, but that didn't stop him from tossing around the contents of a big bowl of popcorn! He now tries to eat it when we play with popcorn, so no more of that game.... :(
Hey Melissa. God, I am so sorry to hear about your MIL. How is she today? What is the work situation like?

I know you are very worried...understandably. I did wan tto tell you that my dad had a triple bypass a few years ago and is now doing great! He doesn't take as good of care of himself as he should (eats poorly, has diabetes), but at leats he is walking a bit more often now. My Pop-Pop (who passed away in 2000 at age 95) had a quadruple bypass when he was 80...and he lived 15 more years! Heart surgeries - while terrifying- really do have a very high success rate. Please try not to worry too much.

Keep us posted!! Thinking of you

Picture: This is what happens when you raise a kid on health food and they get ahold of a Coke! Bad mom, that soda is NOT on the reflux diet.
UPDATE: Isaiah is now 12 and off meds! He is doing great, eating again and hopefully will be catching up in the growing department. I am still in the "hoping it sticks" phase, but we're so happy that he's better!
OH, wow...that would be so hard. I agree...My MIL has been terrible lately but boy would I hate to lose her! I'll pray for your mil's quick and complete recovery. Sorry about your boss...I hope that things get better for you there! (((hugs)))
Check with your
doctor first!
