mom to Mila 2-20-2007
and Robby 4-22-2004
Mila is on Peptamen JR 30 cal by NG tube. Open Heart Surgery 2/08/08. Captopril, Zantac, Losec, Lasix.
Urine Color
Mila had a serious choke today while I was bolusing her some water... Her pee has been seriously dark - bordering on orange. Her potty is white so it shows up really well, LOL. It also, obviously, smells like pee.

I hate this roller coaster reflux. If she choked while drinking, fine, but this was so obviously a reflux event. I hope nothing got in her lungs. She was laying there all nicely and all of a sudden it sounded like she was drowning. Now I'm all nervous about cutting down her meds!

I am Jacky, mommy to Joslyn Olivia (April 2008) and Katelyn Isabel (November 2009).
Joslyn was dx'ed with Silent Reflux with breath apnea at 5 days old. VERY SCARY!
Katelyn is a spitter reflux baby. Started at 3 days old as well. (Both were/are breast fed.. symptoms came on when my milk came in).
Joslyn has been reflux free since she was 12 months (suffered poor weight gain for a few months) and Katelyn is now on Zantac... waiting to see if it works.
poor baby! I hope she is okay!

My name is being used fraudently to ill represent me. Please be cautious of any information you receive with my name. including,,, anything from anyone claiming to be Engi Nowaira online. Otherwise, I will be representing myself in person so that everyone will have opportunity to identify me in person.
My previous drivers license was also stolen. The new one has extra security features on it.
Hope she is okay. There are home test you could get to at least make sure it is not a UTI. We get ours from the local pharmacy. I think it is 2 test for $8. Does she choke like that a lot? Megan seems to get strangled all the time. Feel better soon Mila.

This is our dd, Alessandra. Dx with GER 10/07. Ran the gamut with meds and now done with them (crossed fingers). Using magnesium, probiotics and prebiotic supplements. With the exception of teething and general sassy attitude, all is well now. They really CAN grow out of it!
Allie gets VERY dark and strong smelling urine a few days before she pops a tooth.

Tracey, mom to Katie. Diagnosed with reflux at 3 weeks and put on Zantac. At 8 months old she was removed from Zantac as it was giving her migraines, currently on Prevacid. Switched to Elecare since she is not gaining weight; trialing solids after being off for a month. Geneticist said reason she isn't gaining weight is she is stubborn. Upcoming appts.: Neurologist for developmental delay and EGD scheduled for September. She is one funny baby!

This is so weird but Katies diaper had really orange pee in it the other day but since she had both carrots and sweet potatoes the night before I thought it might be related to that.

Didn't tell you previously but I read your blog and am amazed at Mila potty learning herself! Way to go Mila! I love all of her leg warmers too!

Sharon, Mom to Elyse, 17 mos (15 mos adjusted-preemie). Zantac/Elecare. History of: Respiratory Distress Syndrome with ventilation/CPAP/cannula, tpn, n/g tube, PDA, jaundice, apnea, bradycardia/tachycardia, severe anemia, blood transfusion, reflux, Sandifer's Syndrome, intestinal malrotation, hemangiomas, MSPI, feeding issues. ICU inpatient 53 days! 2 surgeries, 2 UGIs, barium enema, pH probe, endoscopy. Developmentally on target now! PIC: Yobaby Beard
Could be a UTI??? Elyse still has those choking episodes sometimes that are obviously reflux events bc it is not during drinking. You probably remember, she used to turn blue...I was always on here freaking out.
Check with your
doctor first!
