Adoptive mommy to Micah (Feb 2006), Caleb (Mar 2007; 26 wk preemie, subglottic stenosis, BPD, GERD, dysphagia, FTT, in PT, OT, ST, feeding therapy, 30 mg Prevacid daily, mostly pureed foods, shakes & Pediasure) and Ethan (Feb 2008; 28 wk preemie, BPD, GERD, 15 mg Prevacid daily, Similac Sensitive/Alimentum)
Alimentum and oily skin/hair?
Ethan has always been an oily child, but since we started the Alimentum his hair is greasy again a couple of hours after I wash it. His hands are also very oily, and he's always getting yucky black muck built up between his fingers! Is there a shampoo for oily-haired babies? Can I use Dawn? Seriously!

hmmm, ELyse is not on alimentum, but around 10 mos or so i noticed her hair was always oily right after I washed it. I switched to baby shampoo for her hair instead of using baby wash for body AND hair and it cleared up. Are you using shampoo on his hair or the J&J baby wash?

I have been using the baby wash, but I've also tried Dawn! lol I know it's goofy, but I'm desperate! It did keep his hair clean for a couple of hours longer, but I worry that when he starts moving around more it might get in his eyes.

Tracey, mom to Katie. Diagnosed with reflux at 3 weeks and put on Zantac. At 8 months old she was removed from Zantac as it was giving her migraines, currently on Prevacid. Switched to Elecare since she is not gaining weight; trialing solids after being off for a month. Geneticist said reason she isn't gaining weight is she is stubborn. Upcoming appts.: Neurologist for developmental delay and EGD scheduled for September. She is one funny baby!
I think it is the body wash cause it happened to Katie so I switched to shampoo.

Switch to shampoo since both Tracey and I noticed a difference. I use the target brand baby shampoo and it works great!
