Ok, so first of all, I just want to thank you!!!!!! I just got back from the pedi and it turns out that she is protein intolerant. I would have never known to bring these specific symptoms to his attention if you didn't bring it to my attention about her bm's. I have to change formula. He also put her on prevacid for her reflux. The pinkish/brown chunks, he said were from her esophagus.. ( the acid coming up) Again, I am soooooo grateful.. Thank You! Amber B.

Mom (Danie) to Adam (9-4-03) & Nate (3-7-07) Nate was diagnosed with silent AR at 2 months old. He was on neocate, prevacid 30mg per day and couldn't start solids till he was almost 8 months old. He started cow's milk at 14 months and is currently off all meds!! So far so good :) PIC: Disney trip 2008. Nate didn't know Piglet was there, he didn't like the characters too much.
I am just popping in here to let you know I told Jennifer you posted to her. She said she will respond to you tomorrow :)

I just woke up and have a quick sec to update. I am SO excited you had a great visit w/ the pedi-and that the pedi listened to you. That is awesome. Hopefully, by switching formulas brailyn's can begin to feel better. Just remember the prevacid can take 4-6wks to take full effect. What doseage is she on? MOst babies do better with a morning dose and an evening dose. What formula are you on now? Did your pedi indicate at all that the stuff in the vomit could be blood? I know that is what it ended up being w/ one of my friends. Keep us posted on her progress and how she does on her new formula and med combo!! I am glad I could be of help in helping your precious daughter! Jennifer

Hey, How are you feeling? I read that you were having surgery yesterday? (Mommyto2) I hope your feeling better.! :) Well OK so I have a problem...LOL... HELP... The pedi told me to switch to either the nutramigen or the alimentum. He gave me a sample of the nutra... She wouldn't eat it for anything.. funny story actually.. I tried giving it to her when we got home from the dr. It was time for her to feed. Well you know how babies stick their little tongue out, then blow... Well..... She got a mouth full of this formula and instead of swallowing it... She stuck her tongue out and blew...!!!! Can you guess where the formula went..? LMAO!!! I got to taste it.. So anyways when my hubby got home we went to the store to purchase the other formula to see if she might like that better. ( she only ate 2 oz between 12-7). She tolerated it a little better, but only ate about 1-2 oz and started spitting it out. Does anybody have any tricks? The pedi said that the pinkish/brown chunks were from the acid coming up in her esophagus. I think thats what really made him decide to change her from axid to prevacid. He said that it is much more potent that axid and she is taking 1/2 of a tab in the a.m. at first.. Then he said he might want to bump it up to full 15mg if there is no improvement. He did say that he might want to do a biopsy of her intestines if this formula doesn't work(for the mspi). I have to call him on tuesday and give him an update. Has anybody heard of that? Well the good news is she kept down the 2 oz she did eat of her new formula. ( let me knock on wood, don't want to jinx it..lol) Hope you feel better soon... Have a good day everyone!!!

My son was 8 weeks-ish when we changed him to nutra. He love it but I don't think they have their taste buds developed at that point. He at the barium for his upper GI just like it was mother's milk, lol. Maybe my kid just liked to eat regardless of the taste? Anything is possible!

do you have any of the old formula left? you can mix a little in if she is still not tolerating the new taste. i know it might make her puke tho... how is it going today?
