Jedd--Feeding Center Update
On June 26th Jedd weighed 12.2 kilos. Tuesday he weighed 11.9 kilos. So it really was a tiny tiny bit he lost. This is also taking into account that I tried to stop his Claritan and it did not go well for about 2 weeks of that time.

He did grow about 2.5 inches. WHOOHOO!!!!It's about time he got taller!!!!! She measured him standing and then redid it laying down because she thought he had been on his tippy toes..LOL

We are to keep doing what we are doing and offer textured solids 3 times per day instead of two. She also wants us to offer something hard and chewy to chew on before each meal so he can practice chewing and gain muscle strength, like twizzlers or beef jerky.

So long appt but not really much change.

She was actually pleased with his weight even though he lost the tiny bit because now his height and weight %tiles match for the first time ever. He is right at 25 now!!!! YAY YAY YAY

I am to work on getting meds done orally. So they want the claritan and all his E-mycin done orally and they want his milti-vitamen crushed and put in food or drank orally with water. So far I can get it all in him orally except the Prilosec. He keeps spitting it out in his sleep....GGGRRRRRR

We are not sure what to do about his Prilosec because he needs to be empty for that and I give it to him in his sleep around 10:30 every night....so we are not sure about that one. Being that he pretty much has food IN his belly ALL day and is NEVER empty, we are at a lose.

A scary thought is the fact that if Jedd takes all his meds orally and maintains his weight for 3 months they want to yank the tube!!!!!YIKES......

I think she saw the look of shear panic on my face because she quickly added unless you want to keep it just in case!!!! YES YES!!!!! I was thinking but I did NOT scream it...LOL

I told her YES it will stay I would hate to have to need it in the future due to a regressions and then NOT have it....LOL

So for now and at least a year if I have anything to say about it that tube is going NO WHERE.......

Thanks for reading my update about Jedd!!!!!!

Mom (Danie) to Adam (9-4-03) & Nate (3-7-07) Nate was diagnosed with silent AR at 2 months old. He was on neocate, prevacid 30mg per day and couldn't start solids till he was almost 8 months old. He started cow's milk at 14 months and is currently off all meds!! So far so good :) PIC: Disney trip 2008. Nate didn't know Piglet was there, he didn't like the characters too much.
Great update!! I totally hear ya on the tube...why yank it and POSSIBLY need it in the future. I have been meaning to tell ya that I LOVE your new siggy pic :)

Have they given you a Nuk brush for him to practice chewing with. This worked wonders for Aubrey. Plus she would use it to dip in her goat's milk yogurt and make a great snack/mess. Her bite is strong now! I am glad he is moving up the charts. Sounds like things are going well.

I am Jacky, mommy to Joslyn Olivia (April 2008) and Katelyn Isabel (November 2009).
Joslyn was dx'ed with Silent Reflux with breath apnea at 5 days old. VERY SCARY!
Katelyn is a spitter reflux baby. Started at 3 days old as well. (Both were/are breast fed.. symptoms came on when my milk came in).
Joslyn has been reflux free since she was 12 months (suffered poor weight gain for a few months) and Katelyn is now on Zantac... waiting to see if it works.
now that is a wonderful update!!!!!!!!!! THANKS FOR THE GREAT NEWS!!!

Donnessa, mom to Halley born 3/10/07
Reflux (mostly) resolved at 14 months
and Addison born 8/17/09. Currently exclusively bf and on 7.5mg Prevacid
Yeah on the great appointment! I'm with you - I'd keep the tube, at least through the winter. If he is still doing well next spring/summer you can always re-evaluate. Keep up the good work, Jedd!

Tracey, mom to Katie. Diagnosed with reflux at 3 weeks and put on Zantac. At 8 months old she was removed from Zantac as it was giving her migraines, currently on Prevacid. Switched to Elecare since she is not gaining weight; trialing solids after being off for a month. Geneticist said reason she isn't gaining weight is she is stubborn. Upcoming appts.: Neurologist for developmental delay and EGD scheduled for September. She is one funny baby!
Good news!

Melissa - Mommy to Sebastian, born 9/28/07 @ 7 lbs 7 oz and 20.75 in. At docs at 12 months: 27 pounds and 32 in! Good grief! GERD - currently on Prevacid suspension (liquid equivalent of 45 mg a day). Allergic to dairy, soy, eggs, wheat, all treenuts, peanuts, fish, shellfish, peas, sesame, bananas, barley, coconut, dust, dust mite, dog, cat, latex. Seasonal allergies. Oral Allergy Syndrome (OAS). Neocate only - no solids - until further notice (drinks and loves water, too). Loves his doggie, our rescued Treeing Walker Coonhound, Louise, even though he is allergic to her. Louise will make your doctor a homemade pie if you would like her to. PHOTO: We couldn't do a cake on Sebastian's birthday, but that didn't stop him from tossing around the contents of a big bowl of popcorn! He now tries to eat it when we play with popcorn, so no more of that game.... :(
Got room in your car for four more? Larry, Sebastian, Louise an di might need ot move in. Mortgages SUCK. But I am really glad to hear Jedd is doing so well! Is it so well that you are still thinking about baby #2?
Check with your
doctor first!
