Aubrey is getting a new therapist
Wow I seem to be a post hog today! I am so excited that ECI is sending out another therapist. Aubrey's OT left (a brief recap or maybe I haven't told the story) so instead of getting her a new one it was decided that since Aubrey is doing so much better ECI would have her developmental therapist do her OT. I am cool w/ that. If the woman did something besides sit on her rear the whole time! I was so upset at this prospect. This woman has been to my house 2x's a month for 6mo and not done a thing except teach a few signs.

On the next to the last visit the therapist was supposed to come out w/ the OT to see what she does (which she is supposed to do every couple months anyway) but she no showed. The next time she came but she was late-as usual. DH convinced me to give it a shot and see if her DT did anything. I gave her one session-it was aweful! She sat at the table an colored w/ brandon then sat on the floor and built blocks. I even tried to get some stuff done and show her some things I noticed Aubrey had trouble with. NOTHING!

So I called the OT to see if she had any ideas-she was already aware I was leary. So she talked w/ her boss at ECI and I told me she would switch Aubrey's DT. Her current DT is better at those w/ fine motor issues or speech delay. In other words she is LAZY! ECI is just telling her old DT that she has a heavy case load and they are reassigning kids.

Now I have been forwarned that the new DT is a very tall black man. Heehee. Aubrey might take a bit to warm up to him but he is awesome w/ the kiddos. I am so excited for our first session with him!!!!

I am off to hopefully get some sleep. I will update when I can after surgery!

Everyone I know who has a kid in ECI says that the therapists no show, or do nothing! I can't believe that professionals do that! I would never do that and I used to go in-home. I called if I was going to be 5 minutes late and then stayed the extra time at the end! GL with the new txist

It is about time that they switched her. I really hope the new one will actually do his job and help her.

Coyle Eagan. One Year Old. Doing well on Cow's Milk flavored with juice :) Drinking two bottles of Go&Grow daily. Eating solids better but still have rough days. No More Silent Reflux-that I can hear anyway.. but puking again. Zantac 2ML 2X daily.
I was told by coy's neurologist that it would be pointless to have ECI come out. It is so messed up in the county I live in: i called 4 times over a 3 month period and no one returned my phone call. That is why i have to drive 35 min. to the children's hospital for his PT. ECI may be free but sometimes i wonder if it is "worth" it. I hope she warms up to this new guy. it is good news that the kids love him.

Her OT was awesome and so is her behavior therapist. But her DT is well-I hate to even say this but she is very overweight and lazy. It just shows. I have nothing against people who are overweight but I don't like lazy people no matter what size they are! Even her OT said the new DT is great and he gets up and gets moving!
