Adoptive mommy to Micah (Feb 2006), Caleb (Mar 2007; 26 wk preemie, subglottic stenosis, BPD, GERD, dysphagia, FTT, in PT, OT, ST, feeding therapy, 30 mg Prevacid daily, mostly pureed foods, shakes & Pediasure) and Ethan (Feb 2008; 28 wk preemie, BPD, GERD, 15 mg Prevacid daily, Similac Sensitive/Alimentum)
Anyone else dreading winter?
My 2-year-old, Micah, has a cold, and I'm just waiting for Caleb and Ethan to get it. It makes me hate the thought of the coming hospitalizations. Every time Caleb gets a cold he ends up in the hospital with respiratory distress because of the subglottic stenosis, and dehydration because it aggravates the reflux. Can we skip winter this year, please???

P.S. Still waiting for the results of the gastric emptying study.

Maggie is now 3 years old and reflux free (knock on wood). I still check in some to see how everybody is doing :) Hugs to all!
Yep, I am for sure! I hope to get Maggie ear tubes before then.

Mom (Danie) to Adam (9-4-03) & Nate (3-7-07) Nate was diagnosed with silent AR at 2 months old. He was on neocate, prevacid 30mg per day and couldn't start solids till he was almost 8 months old. He started cow's milk at 14 months and is currently off all meds!! So far so good :) PIC: Disney trip 2008. Nate didn't know Piglet was there, he didn't like the characters too much.
Us too...NOT looking forward to it!!!

I am dreading it bc Elyse is sooooo active and we have such a small house (750 sq in 2 stories....so imagine the size of the entire 1st floor where we spend all our waking hours is 375sq). She gets super stir crazy already and we spent most of the day outside despite the over 100 degree weather right now. I am looking for indoor activities outside of home for us to do when it starts getting cold. She does not watch tv so I can't just plug in a video ;)

And the sickies is another dreaded thing....everytime she gets sick she vomits for about 10 days and loses a couple lbs.

Gosh, I hadn't even thought about the ear infections! He just got his ear tubes out a couple of months ago, and he hasn't been sleeping in the Tucker Sling since the end of June. Yikes!

Where we live the malls have free indoor playgrounds that we go to in the winter. My 2-year-old would climb the walls if we didn't have a place for him to play!

Coyle Eagan. One Year Old. Doing well on Cow's Milk flavored with juice :) Drinking two bottles of Go&Grow daily. Eating solids better but still have rough days. No More Silent Reflux-that I can hear anyway.. but puking again. Zantac 2ML 2X daily.
actually for us the cold season has been worse this summer than it was last winter. we had 3 colds from APR-July. so, i'm hoping the viruses freeze to death. i thought you lived in a warm climate...

Shoot, no! We live in eastern Washington! Lots of snow and staying indoors. Also, we just bought a house in May out in farming country. No trees, lots of WIND! We've been using heavy blankets at night all summer!
