What A Waste of Time
Today sux. Quinn had an appointment, two hours away. A follow up with the ENT doctor. About a month ago, she had an appointment in the same office, but it was with the resident doctor and he wanted us to come back today to see the real doctor and they were going to do surgery on her tomorrow. Obviously, I cancelled the surgery. We waited in the waiting room for 1 1/2 hours before our name was called. They took her vitals and told us to wait in the waiting room again until a room opened up. 15 minutes later, I asked the nurse when we were going to be seen and she said there was three patients ahead of us still. I waited another 10 minutes and told them that we were leaving. The wait is too long for a 2 1/2 year old to be so bored and I wasn't waiting any longer. It's their fault that they over-booked. I'm sick of sitting in waiting rooms for hours just to be seen for a 10 minute appointment to go over the same shit we already know. NOT COOL!!!!! Who knows, we could have found out more about what was going on with her, but I don't think it was worth the waste of gas to get down there and the time in the waiting room. UGH! I will NEVER go back to that clinic again. If you schedule an appointment, I expect there to be a wait, but not that long and if you over-booked, reschedule the darn appointment. I'm sick of wasting my time in doctor's offices. I feel like all they are good for is validation of what I already know. UGH!!!!! i want to scream!!!! Plus, I got into a good for nothing argument with my parents the whole way down there that really didn't make any sense and had no outcome other than an upset me (I only argue with my parents like once a year). Today is just turning out to be a very bad day. Somebody save me. -Sarah

I am Jacky, mommy to Joslyn Olivia (April 2008) and Katelyn Isabel (November 2009).
Joslyn was dx'ed with Silent Reflux with breath apnea at 5 days old. VERY SCARY!
Katelyn is a spitter reflux baby. Started at 3 days old as well. (Both were/are breast fed.. symptoms came on when my milk came in).
Joslyn has been reflux free since she was 12 months (suffered poor weight gain for a few months) and Katelyn is now on Zantac... waiting to see if it works.

I hope you can get rescheduled or at least try to get in closer to home.

Louise will make your doctor a homemade pie if you would like her to. PHOTO: We couldn't do a cake on Sebastian's birthday, but that didn't stop him from tossing around the contents of a big bowl of popcorn! He now tries to eat it when we play with popcorn, so no more of that game.... :(
That sucks! I hope your man is there to give you a giant hug. I also think you should use this as some inspiration to write some angry chick poetry. Looking forward to a new verse or two! Sorry your day was so crappy!!

Aw thanks guys. What's even crummier is that the new man is working the overnight shift today so no love tonight :( BUT, the family is getting together for a Halo party. Yeah, my entire family plays Halo and my bro is in Washington, my sister is in Hawaii and we my other sis, bro in law and dad are coming over to play so we can all play together. How nice is that? That ought to help.

Are you familiar with the children's book "Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible No Good, Very Bad Day"? It's one of my favorites, telling it like it is -- "...some days are like that, even in Australia."

May tomorrow be at least less annoying... :)

Wow
I don't blame you! Could you imagine after the surgery if you need help or u guys are not doing well. If the wait was this long with a planned appt. could u imagine a work-in sick appt. We left Megan's first GI after the doc went on Vacation. There were I think 8 other docs in the practice. None would see her cause she is TOO complicated, per their words. She was left in pain from the time her doc. left on vacation for 2 weeks till we found a new GI 3 weeks later. Better to pay attention to the ques that the office is on overload and go to a calmer one before surgery.
Check with your
doctor first!
