Jennifer - 1st time mom. Lauren (6/1/07) diagnosed 9/07 with GER at 3 1/2 months. Prevacid 7.5 mg in the am. Currently drinking whole milk and eating great!!
No longer aspirating! Yippee!
Picture: Why would Lauren play with the hundreds of dollars worth of toys scattered in my living room?!?! When she could play in a box! Estimated move date: Oct. 3rd!
Easy recipes?Okay, if you read my earlier post you understand how difficult I am finding it to come home from work alone, give Lauren all the attention she wants and deserves AND make some sort of meal...
In light of that, I am trying to do some problem solving and have been going through my family cookbook looking for freezable meals and crock pot stuff like Sharon suggested. I have come up with a few things :)
I was thinking that there might be other out here in Momland who have the same issue, even if you are at home our lo's can be quite demanding!
Could we do a recipe exchange? We could do it all over email so we're not clogging up the board :) Let me know if anyone would be interested...

Maggie is now 3 years old and reflux free (knock on wood). I still check in some to see how everybody is doing :) Hugs to all!
|I'd love it but I don't know how much help I'll be. We don't eat nearly as healthy as we should. We do rotisserie chicken from the groc. store with deli sides, spaghetti, tacos, breakfast, the already marinated perdue chicken breasts, frozen fish, stew beef in the c.pot, tuna casserole, occ. $5 pizza from lil caesar's, and that's all I've got right now. :)|

Meridith, mom to Ethan born 4/23/08. Ethan was diagnosed with reflux at about 1 month. He has been on Zantac (unsuccessful) and Prevacid. He is currently taking 7.5 mg of Prevacid 2x per day, with good results. We also suspect MPI, though this hasn't been confirmed by a doctor yet.
Ethan is mostly breastfed, though we are doing one bottle of soy formula each day. We also do some homeade "solids' including, so far pears, avocado, sweet potato, and peaches.
|I've got a couple of things that are working for us. I'll shoot you an email.

|Here are a few of my favorites : |
Salsa Chicken - 1 chicken breast per person, 1 jar of salsa. Combine in crockpot, cook all day ( 6 hours high, 8 hours low ). Last 1/2 hour or just before serving, top with shredded cheese. Serve over rice. ( Want to add veggies? Canned black beans are fantastic in here, as is corn, etc )
Crockpot Roast - 1 small roast, 2 carrots, 1 onion, 1 can of beef gravy. Chop carrot & onion. Put half in crockpot. Sprinkle roast with seasonings, put on top of veggies. Put more veggies on top. Cover it all with beef gravy. Cook all day - at LEAST 6-7 hours on high, or 8-10 on low. If your crockpot is big enough, you can add a chopped potato or two.
Salisbury steaks - Mush together 1 egg, 1 cup crushed cornflakes, garlic salt, pepper, ketchup, worchestire sauce, and a squirt of BBQ. Form into patties, and sear quickly on both sides so they don't fall apart. Layer in crockpot. Cover with beef gravy, cook on low all day ( they are already partially cooked ). Serve over mashed potatos & rice.
No fuss Teriyaki - Combine teriyaki sauce and protein in crockpot. Cook all day. ( I use chicken ). Steam oriental veggies ( frozen food section ) in microwave. Combine entire contents of crockpot with veggies, serve over rice.
Sloppy joe mac - Brown ground beef in skillet until at least 1/2 way cooked, move to crockpot. Cover with sloppy joe sauce ( i like manwich ). Cook all day on low. Make two boxes of mac n cheese to preference. Top mac n cheese with sloppy joe mix.
Meatballs & Pasta - Add meatballs to a jar of pasta sauce and cook all day on low for precooked, high for uncooked.
Crispy chicken - Crush 2 cups of cornflakes to coarse consistancy. Add 1 tsp garlic powder, salt, pepper. Dip flattened chickenbreasts into italian dressing, then into cornflakes. Bake at 450* for 1/2 hour.
Flank Steak - Marinate 1 flank steak in a mixture of honey, soy sauce, garlic, pepper flakes, and lemon juice. NO SALT. Broil 5-10 minutes per side, or BBQ for same. Have more time? Bake 30 min on each side for a delicious crust.
