Weird fever...
have any of your kids run a fever w/o any other symptoms?? Abby started with a fever yesterday. I swear Wed she felt warm but I never took her temp and just chalked it up to me being paranoid since she was acting fine. The highest it has been was this am 101.9 (temperal). And it goes away w/in an hour of having tylenol. I just can't figure it out. She is acting fine. I do see a bottom 2yr molar just under the skin so I guess that could be it. But I don't think teething has ever caused her to run a fever before. And of course our puppy is also running a fever. Spent $75 at the vet this morning. She got kennel cough from when we boarded her earlier this month. It was a last min weekend trip and she didn't get her bordetella shot in time for it to take effect before her stay. :P

My son did this twice. The first time he had a really high fever for 3 days and then the fever broke and he got a rash. Turned out to be roseola. Then this summer we were at a b-day party and he suddenly looked miserable. He had a 102 temp! He had no other symptoms and my the following afternoon, the fever was gone. My understanding is that fevers are the bodies way of killing the infection. The bacteria can't survive in the high temp. So when they have an unexplained fever, I'd assume they successfully beat the infection down. If it happened often (every week) or lasted longer than 3 days, I'd call the pedi and see if you should bring you LO in. Good Luck.

Reflux (mostly) resolved at 14 months
and Addison born 8/17/09. Currently exclusively bf and on 7.5mg Prevacid
This just happened to Halley a few weeks ago. It went as high as 104.1. Although she never got the rash, the pedi thinks it was roseola.

Korbin's rash was only on his upper trunk. The doctor said it would spread over his whole body and then disappear. That never happend though. It was gone in a couple days.

Jessica, Mommy to Jedd, severe reflux, severe food and oral aversions, Finally G tube free!!! VSD repair 4-24-07 (open heart surgery), hypospadias, repaired 3 times and Ear tubes Visit Jedd at his CB site: www.caringbridge.org/visit/jedd
When Jedd got Roseolo (sp?) we never saw a rash. Our ped said some kids break out from head to toe while others get tiny ones. And others still yet get such a small rash that goes away quickly that the parents never have time to see it.

Jedd fever was super high when he got that. It was scary. And he was tiny too...he was about 4 months old at the time.

My guess would be the tooth. I hope it goes away and stays away.

With Halley, the fever rose a little more each day for about 4 days and it was worst at night. Our pedi said the same thing about the rash - some kids are covered in it and others either don't get it or it's very minor. The rash will appear (if it does) after the fever breaks. There's really nothing you can do other than tylenol/motrin. Hopefully it's just the tooth and she'll be feeling better right away.

This is our dd, Alessandra. Dx with GER 10/07. Ran the gamut with meds and now done with them (crossed fingers). Using magnesium, probiotics and prebiotic supplements. With the exception of teething and general sassy attitude, all is well now. They really CAN grow out of it!
same thing for us - roseola, though the fever and the rash happened a few days apart. my lo also had a double ear infection, teething, and a UTI as well, so we were pulling out hair out at the time trying to figure out what was casuing what!

Maggie is now 3 years old and reflux free (knock on wood). I still check in some to see how everybody is doing :) Hugs to all!
Morgan has done this for years. She just had an unexplainable fever last week. It was gone after a couple doses of tylenol. My theory is: since a fever is meant to fight off something maybe it actually does sometime before anything else gets started. I don't know...that's just a thought.

Well her fever was a littler higher last night right before bed 101.5. So I was thinking it would be worse at night. I woke her up at 1:30am to give her motrin and she wasn't warm at all. :) Went ahead and gave it to her anyways. Then she was up this morning at 8 and still wasn't warm. :) So we shall see. I am going to keep rotating tylenol and motrin till tomorrow. Still no other symptoms. :P
