For those who use Miralax.....
how much do you give your lo? I am still experimenting with Abby's dose. I haven't seen much improvement in them yet. I just upped her dose 3 days ago to 1tsp per day. I was going slow b/c I didn't want to get the opposite effect. I can't remember what dose my oldest dd was on at Abby's age. Thanks! :0)

Melissa - Mommy to Sebastian, born 9/28/07 @ 7 lbs 7 oz and 20.75 in. At docs at 12 months: 27 pounds and 32 in! Good grief! GERD - currently on Prevacid suspension (liquid equivalent of 45 mg a day). Allergic to dairy, soy, eggs, wheat, all treenuts, peanuts, fish, shellfish, peas, sesame, bananas, barley, coconut, dust, dust mite, dog, cat, latex. Seasonal allergies. Oral Allergy Syndrome (OAS). Neocate only - no solids - until further notice (drinks and loves water, too). Loves his doggie, our rescued Treeing Walker Coonhound, Louise, even though he is allergic to her. Louise will make your doctor a homemade pie if you would like her to. PHOTO: We couldn't do a cake on Sebastian's birthday, but that didn't stop him from tossing around the contents of a big bowl of popcorn! He now tries to eat it when we play with popcorn, so no more of that game.... :(
Hi there! We keep adjusting Sebasatian's dose because we CANNOT seem to find the right one! Little man is 25 pounds, and he gets anywhere from .5 to 1.25 teaspoons once a day. Hope this helps! Praying for poop for you (well, for Abby, not you)!

Our 1 year old daughter has silent reflux, hypotonia as well as benign external hydrocephalus. We are currently weaning onto whole milk (we'll see if it works) and she is also on Prevacid 15mg per day.
Well Keira is 21 pounds and last week her doctor put her up to three tsp of Miralax! Eventually it worked...

Mary & Nicholas 7-17-03 (non-refluxer)allergies, asthma on Singulair and Flovent & Aidan 1-28-07(my refluxer)Nissen Fundoplication on June 20, 2008, FTT, MSPI, DGE, ear tubes, allergies and severe GERD now currently taking just Prevacid and drinking Elecare Vanilla 1+.
Aidan is 24 pounds and gets a half a cap full. I am not sure how much is in a half-cup because it always does the trick so I have never bothered to measure it. It really is trial and error. Just keep upping it until you have a few blowouts and then back off of it a little. That is seriously what our GI said.

Thanks ladies! Abby is 27lbs. I just started out at 1/4 tsp and I have been upping it every 5 days or so when we haven't seen results. I will have to check with the pharmacist. I can't wait till the day that I don't have to worry about my kids pooping. :P

Kathryn, Pager Volunteer and mommy to Emily Mia 02/04/07. 3 years old with GERD. 30mg Prevacid and Pepcid AC. Mylanta needed for flares. Failed prilosec med switch. Tried and failed many med weans but GERD and pain are well controlled. Functional constipation. Reoccurring SBBO. Suspected IBD or autoimmune disease. Audrey Meadow 06/20/08. born 34/35 weeks. Still b/f and eats everything! ftt and chronic constipation.
emily is 26 lbs our pedi said to take a capful and 8 oz of juice and give her 2 oz everyday. Each capful is a little over 5 tbs. the GI told us we can go between 1 and 3 tbs. some days we would have to do 1 tbs twice a day others we would just do one. Take in to account the food she ate that day, if it is a lot of fruit don't do as much in the dose, if not, do more. i was old you can not over dose on it but a pharm and pedi dose is best. Once you get her going keep her on that dose that worked for at least a week then you can lower from there. good luck!

Our GI said that as miralax is not absorbed by the body, you can go as high as needed to get the desired effect unless you get diarrhea. Lauren takes 2 capfuls a day,Chris takes the same, and Trey takes one capful a day. They are older though, 6 and 7 years old. Brent very very rarely gets it, since he has chronic diarrhea/colitis, but the few times he has gotten it he has gotten 1 tsp per 2 oz water in his tube. This is a low dose.
