Pregnancy and reflux babies
Hi I already have one child with reflux and am currently pregnant with my third child 24 weeks. However with this baby he/she always seems to give me heartburn or the baby seems to have like hiccups and it is always on the move. I was wondering if anyone has had a child after having a reflux baby and if there next baby has reflux? Could anyone share there stories with me please many thanks Natasha

Hi! Lots of us here had hiccups while pregnant with our little refluxers, but it's not a given sign that your lo will. Just remember that even if he/she does have reflux you will be more prepared for having experienced it before. I was TOTALLY traumatized by my first refluxer and swore I'd never do it again....but now I'm reconsidering lately. I'm sure some other moms with more than one will chime in. Congratulations, btw. Good luck!!

Melissa - Mommy to Sebastian, born 9/28/07 @ 7 lbs 7 oz and 20.75 in. At docs at 12 months: 27 pounds and 32 in! Good grief! GERD - currently on Prevacid suspension (liquid equivalent of 45 mg a day). Allergic to dairy, soy, eggs, wheat, all treenuts, peanuts, fish, shellfish, peas, sesame, bananas, barley, coconut, dust, dust mite, dog, cat, latex. Seasonal allergies. Oral Allergy Syndrome (OAS). Neocate only - no solids - until further notice (drinks and loves water, too). Loves his doggie, our rescued Treeing Walker Coonhound, Louise, even though he is allergic to her. Louise will make your doctor a homemade pie if you would like her to. PHOTO: We couldn't do a cake on Sebastian's birthday, but that didn't stop him from tossing around the contents of a big bowl of popcorn! He now tries to eat it when we play with popcorn, so no more of that game.... :(
Hi there. My sister's firstborn had no reflux but had hiccups many times a day. She also had a ton of heartburn. Her second daughter had the same issues...and she DOES have reflux! I ahd no heartburn, but Sebastian had hiccups ALL the time! He was also on the move CONSTANTLY, and honestly, he never stopped. He was rolling both ways at 10.5 weeks despite reflux that went uncontrolled for nearly seven long months. I am praying for a healthy nonrefluxer for you!!!

I am Jacky, mommy to Joslyn Olivia (April 2008) and Katelyn Isabel (November 2009).
Joslyn was dx'ed with Silent Reflux with breath apnea at 5 days old. VERY SCARY!
Katelyn is a spitter reflux baby. Started at 3 days old as well. (Both were/are breast fed.. symptoms came on when my milk came in).
Joslyn has been reflux free since she was 12 months (suffered poor weight gain for a few months) and Katelyn is now on Zantac... waiting to see if it works.
I never felt hiccups while preg. and I did not have any heart burn (I did with my other 2 pregs.. but I lost both of those) Joslyn did move alot... not painful movement but I did feel the first movement at 10 weeks preg. Joslyn has hiccups alot now. Multiple times a day.....but I never felt them nor did we see them while I was preg with her (we had 7 U/S with her)
