OT - Paci success!
Some of you may remember a couple months ago I asked for help with the paci. My son gave it up at daycare but wants it for naps and bedtime at home. We had a "serious talk" over bathtime the last two nights. He agreed to "try" to go night-night without his paci because he's a big boy now. The first night it lasted until I walked out of his room. I let him whine for it for 20 minutes. Then I gave it to him and told him he was a good boy for trying. LAST NIGHT he didn't ask for it, went to sleep without it and slept all night without waking and crying for it! I doubt this is the end of the paci but I think we are on the right road. Thanks for the advice!

I am Jacky, mommy to Joslyn Olivia (April 2008) and Katelyn Isabel (November 2009).
Joslyn was dx'ed with Silent Reflux with breath apnea at 5 days old. VERY SCARY!
Katelyn is a spitter reflux baby. Started at 3 days old as well. (Both were/are breast fed.. symptoms came on when my milk came in).
Joslyn has been reflux free since she was 12 months (suffered poor weight gain for a few months) and Katelyn is now on Zantac... waiting to see if it works.
wahoo!!! He deserves a party!!!!! Congrats little guy... or should I say BIG BOY!!

I forgot to mention that he fibbed to me too. I asked him the second night if he uses a paci at day care and he told me yes! I said , "You do?!" and he said yes again. I know he doesn't have a paci at day care so he either 1) fibbed to get out of giving up the paci 2) was giving me any answer just to shut me up already, lol. That last one sounds like his father!

Update: Mommy had a girls date and Daddy put K-man to bed last night. He couldn't convince the little man to give up the paci, durn it! Good thing I am back on the job tonight.

Maggie is now 3 years old and reflux free (knock on wood). I still check in some to see how everybody is doing :) Hugs to all!
Maggie still uses hers at bedtime and nap too, ugh.
Check with your
doctor first!
