Cooper update
So I am nervous to post this, but things are going really well at our house. Cooper has been sleeping really well for about 2 weeks now. It is amazing, it just happened over night (no pun intended HEHEHE). He usually goes down in his crib around 9 (give or take an hour) and wakes about 5 (give or take an hour) and nurses on both sides, then sleeps until 7-8. It is great. He is cutting a tooth and so he has been extra clingy, but doing really well none the less. He didn't eat any solids for 2 days, but is doing a little better now. On Mon, I was eating some soup and decided he could try the broth. It was homemade and like everything I eat, very mild. He went crazy for it. So, I thought, I could make him a variation of this soup and blend it up for him. Well, I did, and he loves it! He has a new food. After 3 months of peas, apples, and pears, he's eating soup. I took a big risk by giving it to him, but it seems to have paid off. He slept from 9:30-6 last night. He also started a homeopathic drop and I think it is really helping too. I am amazed and floored at how well he is doing. He is now pulling up on everything and trying to stand alone. He also said Mama today! He has really started jabbering. Glad to be back. Oh yeah, I'm going to post the soup recipe in a separate thread.

No, he hasn't had another seizure thank God. When I told the chiro about it, he was not surprised at all. He said that he see's that with kiddos with a problem with the C1 (l believe that was where his problem is). It is just amazing. Sorry that Quinn had such a bad seizure. I hope her med adjustment helps and you get the pulse ox soon!

I'm glad to hear coy is going to the chiro. I hope it really helps him like it has Cooper. Coop sat up after the 3rd adjustment, but his neck got stronger right away. The most dramatic changes we saw were the developmental stuff. The reflux improvement was a little more gradual and mostly he just tolerates things better. He is taking NET Remedies #1, Earth. The label says it is for spleen & stomach meridians and it says it relieves symptoms of flus, colds, sinus problems, digestive, mouth, salivs, taste disorders. The ingredient list is pretty detailed, but if you need it let me know. They really seem to help. We are trying them b/c we would like to wean off prevacid soon. The thing about homeopathic is if they don't need it, then it is just flushed out of their system. I like to know that it is only affecting him if he needs it.

this guy is a "wellness" chiro so ill see if he carries it... his development has been okay considering his tone and his tightness.. im looking to help the reflux more than anything, kwim...

Tracey, mom to Katie. Diagnosed with reflux at 3 weeks and put on Zantac. At 8 months old she was removed from Zantac as it was giving her migraines, currently on Prevacid. Switched to Elecare since she is not gaining weight; trialing solids after being off for a month. Geneticist said reason she isn't gaining weight is she is stubborn. Upcoming appts.: Neurologist for developmental delay and EGD scheduled for September. She is one funny baby!
I am so happy!!! If our HMO could get it into gear we could possibly see the chiro once we get the "diagnosis" that it is needed; which it is! Thanks for posting what the chiro has done for Cooper!

ethan's mom
Meridith, mom to Ethan born 4/23/08. Ethan was diagnosed with reflux at about 1 month. He has been on Zantac (unsuccessful) and Prevacid. He is currently taking 7.5 mg of Prevacid 2x per day, with good results. We also suspect MPI, though this hasn't been confirmed by a doctor yet.
Ethan is mostly breastfed, though we are doing one bottle of soy formula each day. We also do some homeade "solids' including, so far pears, avocado, sweet potato, and peaches.

I'm happy to hear that Cooper is doing so well. You must be feeling great, getting that much sleep, and not worrying so much about his eating! One top of everything, he said "mama". Congrats. Meridith

Melissa - Mommy to Sebastian, born 9/28/07 @ 7 lbs 7 oz and 20.75 in. At docs at 12 months: 27 pounds and 32 in! Good grief! GERD - currently on Prevacid suspension (liquid equivalent of 45 mg a day). Allergic to dairy, soy, eggs, wheat, all treenuts, peanuts, fish, shellfish, peas, sesame, bananas, barley, coconut, dust, dust mite, dog, cat, latex. Seasonal allergies. Oral Allergy Syndrome (OAS). Neocate only - no solids - until further notice (drinks and loves water, too). Loves his doggie, our rescued Treeing Walker Coonhound, Louise, even though he is allergic to her. Louise will make your doctor a homemade pie if you would like her to. PHOTO: We couldn't do a cake on Sebastian's birthday, but that didn't stop him from tossing around the contents of a big bowl of popcorn! He now tries to eat it when we play with popcorn, so no more of that game.... :(
What great news. Yay, Cooper!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
