Melissa - Mommy to Sebastian, born 9/28/07 @ 7 lbs 7 oz and 20.75 in. At docs at 12 months: 27 pounds and 32 in! Good grief! GERD - currently on Prevacid suspension (liquid equivalent of 45 mg a day). Allergic to dairy, soy, eggs, wheat, all treenuts, peanuts, fish, shellfish, peas, sesame, bananas, barley, coconut, dust, dust mite, dog, cat, latex. Seasonal allergies. Oral Allergy Syndrome (OAS). Neocate only - no solids - until further notice (drinks and loves water, too). Loves his doggie, our rescued Treeing Walker Coonhound, Louise, even though he is allergic to her. Louise will make your doctor a homemade pie if you would like her to. PHOTO: We couldn't do a cake on Sebastian's birthday, but that didn't stop him from tossing around the contents of a big bowl of popcorn! He now tries to eat it when we play with popcorn, so no more of that game.... :(
OT - Baby for Sale...Inquire Within
Ok, well, obviously not really, but SEBASTIAN IS DRIVING ME CRAZY. He has been waking all night for days and days now, and he has been protesting naps BIG TIME. He is obviously so tired, so I concluded that he is not ready to give up the a.m. nap. I had been trying the Baby Whisperer's Pick Up/Out Down to no avail. So I resorted to CIO again...AGAIN. We tried 5-10-15-etc intervals with no luck, so I tried just leaving him for an hour. Well, he did what he always used to do if I did that - he pooped himself. LIKE CLOCKWORK...and he had already pooped that day. Today, he refused his a.m. nap, and then completely refused his afternoon nap! I decided that I was keeping him in there until he went to sleep, but after one and a half hours, I couldn't take it anymore...so I got him up and took him to the mall. I moved bedtime up from 6:30ish to 6, and would'nt you know it...he fell asleep while I was burping him. So now we are back to Sqaure One. sigh. I don't know how I am going to make it!!

Ok, well, that last a grand total of 43 minutes. Sebastian is screaming his head off, and I am about to throw myself into my neighbor's sticker bushes. I am trying VERY hard to wait a few minutes before going in, but this really sucks. I know he is tired!!

Well, I went in after 5 min. He was standing at the edge of his crib and bouncing up and down...furious! I put my hand on his back, and he laid down and went to sleep. I am now sitting at my kitchen table with a bottle of Ol' Geezer 2006 Shiraz (it really is called that. I know nothing about wine...I just thought the brand suited me). And I mean the bottle. I don't even have a glass. (Don't worry or call CPS...my husband is here)

LMAO at the "Ol'Geezer 2006"! :) Then they get OT it is so hard! Hang in there! I had to do PU/PD and it is tough! I always post on The Babywhispered website so I can get advice from the pros! :0) Esp when they get in a vicious cycle of overtiredness. I hope that he caves in and get some sleep tonight.

Tracey, mom to Katie diagnosed with GERD at 3 week.

LMAO at the Ole Geezer part!!! I HATE it when Katie will poop while napping b/c it means she won't nap for the remainder of the day too.

I think your deck would be more suited to injuring yourself than the bushes. You would just get scratched up and have to use all of Sebastian's Aquaphor and he would have a horrible outbreak.

Enjoy your bottle of wine!!!

Donnessa, mom to Halley born 3/10/07
Reflux (mostly) resolved at 14 months
and Addison born 8/17/09. Currently exclusively bf and on 7.5mg Prevacid
If you get any takers, can you please see if they want a two-for-one special? Between Halley being sick and teething her molars, I feel like drinking an entire cask of Old Geezer.

Jennifer - 1st time mom. Lauren (6/1/07) diagnosed 9/07 with GER at 3 1/2 months. Prevacid 7.5 mg in the am. Currently drinking whole milk and eating great!!
No longer aspirating! Yippee!
Picture: Why would Lauren play with the hundreds of dollars worth of toys scattered in my living room?!?! When she could play in a box! Estimated move date: Oct. 3rd!
OMG Melissa you crack me up. From the Sebastian's new picture to the sticker bushes to the Ol' Geezer! I have no sleep answers, Lauren is currently doubling her number of teeth from 3 to six in 2 weeks (2 new ones are through, the 3rd is on it's way) and tylenol is my best friend!

I will be joining you on the wine before long! I have no answers but really needed a good laugh today. My face is so swollen from crying, now I added laughing lines. I just might drink until I look pretty again!

Kelly, mom of two boys with GERD. John (born 11/03) was on 40mg Nexium til 15 mos old. Second son Brian (born 05/07) started on Zantac. Now on 22.5 mg Prevacid Solutabs plus Carafate 0.5 ml 1 x day
I still get a knot in my stomach when I read posts about moms getting no sleep because those were the hardest months of my life. I can imagine you must be going crazy. Brian's nighttime sleep is bad this week because he is getting his 2 yr molars. But I feel like you have been dealing with the sleep issue for more than your fair share so I hope you get a break soon!! PS Brian's hair often sticks straight up like that without any help from Aquaphor :) The boys next door call him the rock star baby.
Check with your
doctor first!
