Melissa - Mommy to Sebastian, born 9/28/07 @ 7 lbs 7 oz and 20.75 in. At docs at 12 months: 27 pounds and 32 in! Good grief! GERD - currently on Prevacid suspension (liquid equivalent of 45 mg a day). Allergic to dairy, soy, eggs, wheat, all treenuts, peanuts, fish, shellfish, peas, sesame, bananas, barley, coconut, dust, dust mite, dog, cat, latex. Seasonal allergies. Oral Allergy Syndrome (OAS). Neocate only - no solids - until further notice (drinks and loves water, too). Loves his doggie, our rescued Treeing Walker Coonhound, Louise, even though he is allergic to her. Louise will make your doctor a homemade pie if you would like her to. PHOTO: We couldn't do a cake on Sebastian's birthday, but that didn't stop him from tossing around the contents of a big bowl of popcorn! He now tries to eat it when we play with popcorn, so no more of that game.... :(
My husband is showing signs of being his mother's/father's child
You may have heard me vent about my in-laws before (gave Bassy a plastic bag to play with, touched someone's dirty ceiling fan that had caked-on dust and then rubbed Bassy's legs, gave Bassy a deflated balloon to play with, etc, etc, etc.). But now my husband is scaring me! This morning, he shut Sebastian's little finger in the French door to our deck! I couldn't believe it! He told me that if I weren't home, he wouldn't even have considered taking him to the doc because he was an Eagle scout and knows first aid. WTH???!!!!! Yes, I understand that accidents happen, but my son was sitting there screaming with a swollen finger and my husband was like, "Oh, well." I am mad.

Donnessa, mom to Halley born 3/10/07
Reflux (mostly) resolved at 14 months
and Addison born 8/17/09. Currently exclusively bf and on 7.5mg Prevacid
Oh no!! They just don't think, do they? My dh is just like his mother (who fortunately is the opposite of your ils). He worries over EVERYTHING. If the same thing had happened at our house, he would have had Careflite here to take her to the ER :-)

katiesmommy
Tracey, mom to Katie diagnosed with GERD at 3 week.
I would always have to remind Brian to keep Katie's mouth out of the pool water since he would hold her low and sometimes her mouth would be in the pool. I stopped having to remind him when one day she drank too much pool water and as he was asking for a kiss from her she threw up in his open mouth. He now remembers to hold her higher.

Men! The first time we took Nathan on a plane, he was 8 months old. I told my husband to hold him so I could wipe down the seats with the antibacterial wipes. I was wiping my seat and tray and looked over and found my son, being held by my husband, wiping his tongue across the back of the seat in front of my husband. When I looked at my husband, he was like "what was I suppossed to do?". And to think, I was worried about him touching the seats and then putting his hands in his mouth. Pretty much didn't worry about germs for the rest of the plane ride. Figured he had them all in his mouth already. Hope Sebastian's finger's feeling better!

Maggie is now 3 years old and reflux free (knock on wood). I still check in some to see how everybody is doing :) Hugs to all!
I'll add my story: Mags got in a fire ant hill a few days ago under the "supervision" (and I use that term very lightly) of my dh. Luckily I was here. He wasn't concerned about the 10-15 welts on her hand and foot. ugh-I'm sorry. How is Bassy's finger?

Well, at least my husband isn't the only one. Bassy's finger is bruised, but he is OK. DIdn't stop him from tearing around the house and touching all my crap. But boy did the MIL top herself today. I will update on that tomorrow. I am too angry to write about THAT. Let's just say my husband revoked any and all solo babysitting priviledges. (I teach English but cannot spell that to save my life)
Check with your
doctor first!
