Mom (Danie) to Adam (9-4-03) & Nate (3-7-07) Nate was diagnosed with silent AR at 2 months old. He was on neocate, prevacid 30mg per day and couldn't start solids till he was almost 8 months old. He started cow's milk at 14 months and is currently off all meds!! So far so good :) PIC: Disney trip 2008. Nate didn't know Piglet was there, he didn't like the characters too much.
can I PLEASE make a prayer request
Well guys, I am just having a terrible week. Tonight, I found out that my very close family friend (I actually call him Dad) has cancer...here is an email from his wife:

Our doctor called today with Greg's test results which are now being sent down to Texas. The pet scan show that there is a large tumor on the left side of the stomach, a tumor in the liver and one in the intestines. I am not sure how good or bad this news is and will not know the course of action until we hear from the doctors. Hopefully by this time tomorrow we will know what the treatment is. All prayers are needed.

These people lived across the street from me growing up. They practically raised me since both my parents worked full time. They are a very close Italian family...when I am over there things get very LOUD and there is always something cooking with red sauce, lol.

I will be a WRECK if something happens to him. I plan on going there tomorrow after all my "chores" and errands are done. Please just say a prayer that he will be ok...I know NOTHING about cancer...I know this can't be good. Can you please share any experience you have with this...good or bad...I need to know. Thanks you guys...I am really leaning on you all this week.

Tracey, mom to Katie diagnosed with GERD at 3 week.

I'm so sorry! I will definitely keep Greg, his family and your family in our prayers!

I did lose a friend to stomach cancer 10 years ago. She presented with classic symptoms that the dr.'s ignored until they couldn't ignore it any longer. Sorry my story wasn't that she got better; wouldn't have shared that unless you asked for the bad too. :( Please let us know if you find some more info tomorrow after his appt.

Danie, I am so so sorry. Cancer truly touches everyone.

Stomach cancer, I don't know much about, but intestines (colon cancer), I know LOTS about. My grandfather has beat it 2 times, despite the oncologists saying that he was "too old". His wife has also beat it. Intestine cancer can be easily treated just simply by removing a length of the intestine. Sometimes this will mean a colonoscopy but often it doesn't because we have literally feet of intestines and quite a bit can be removed without having to resort to something as drastic as a colonoscopy. Sometimes doctor's don't even do chemo or radiation as a result.

Think positive. My cousin's wife, who was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer and for whom one oncologist only wanted to do "paliative care" is now officially in "partial remission". Miracles do happen.

You are all in my prayers - D
