Jessica, Mommy to Jedd, severe reflux, severe food and oral aversions, Finally G tube free!!! VSD repair 4-24-07 (open heart surgery), hypospadias, repaired 3 times and Ear tubes Visit Jedd at his CB site: www.caringbridge.org/visit/jedd
Figured Out What Was Wrong With Jedd!!!!
I don' tknow why I didn't put 2 and 2 together sooner..:(

I stopped his Claritan for his seasonal allergies about a week ago. Apparently he has REAL bad allergies so I am to restar and as soon as the histamines build back up in his blood I will have my happy baby back....

I *had* to try though. Like I told the nurse I really want him on as little medication as possible....:( She totally understood being that thye put Jedd's Dr's nurse on the line since Jedd's pedi. was out today. Seh was the next best personsince she has known Jedd and all his issues since he was 3 days old for our first visit.

Like she said, you never know until you try and since I tried she said it would be good to keep him on it until the middle of fall.....just as a precaustion since he didn't do to well on the wean...*sigh, sniff, sniff*

She was worried about the fever he ran last night. I am supposed to stop all tylenol and motrin and see if the fever pops back up. If it does thenit means tha the has a sinus infection from my trying to wean him....*sniff, sniff* again...:(

If that happens then I have to bring him in tomorrow to be seen and to get some ABX

And we are supposed to go out of town on Sat early A.M. I pray he gets back in shape before then.

TWINS:
Ella 5/3/05 GERD, asthma, hypotonia, food intolerances, esophagitis, IBS //
Ava 5/3/05 asthma, food allergies
Pic: My girls! They are getting so big!
I hope he is feeling better. Allergies are rough. I kwym about not wanting to give meds unless you have to! Been there. Hopefully he will outgrow some of them soon. At least, like we just found out, you know that you are giving him meds he needs and that you aren't just giving them for no reason. I will be praying for no fever and no infection. I just love this new pic of him. Too cute.

katiesmommy
Tracey, mom to Katie diagnosed with GERD at 3 week.
Well I am sooo happy that it was something as "simple" as putting him back on his Claritin. We tried to wean Katie off of Zantac as we were introducing solids as we were told that they would help her reflux.......they helped her reflux get worse. I completely understand about not wanting them to have more meds. than they need. I hope that the fever was just a fluke and not a sign of a sinus infection, will pray that this is the case!!

Mom (Danie) to Adam (9-4-03) & Nate (3-7-07) Nate was diagnosed with silent AR at 2 months old. He was on neocate, prevacid 30mg per day and couldn't start solids till he was almost 8 months old. He started cow's milk at 14 months and is currently off all meds!! So far so good :) PIC: Disney trip 2008. Nate didn't know Piglet was there, he didn't like the characters too much.
poor guy. I had tried to wean Adam from his allergy meds MANY times and the same thing would happen. Well, in April I tried yet again...he has been MED FREE since!! I should probably *whisper* that, lol. My point is, unfortunately they have to go thru all this just to see if it will work. I hope he gets better fast...that really makes sense tho. Let us know what they say.

Melissa - Mommy to Sebastian, born 9/28/07 @ 7 lbs 7 oz and 20.75 in. At docs at 12 months: 27 pounds and 32 in! Good grief! GERD - currently on Prevacid suspension (liquid equivalent of 45 mg a day). Allergic to dairy, soy, eggs, wheat, all treenuts, peanuts, fish, shellfish, peas, sesame, bananas, barley, coconut, dust, dust mite, dog, cat, latex. Seasonal allergies. Oral Allergy Syndrome (OAS). Neocate only - no solids - until further notice (drinks and loves water, too). Loves his doggie, our rescued Treeing Walker Coonhound, Louise, even though he is allergic to her. Louise will make your doctor a homemade pie if you would like her to. PHOTO: We couldn't do a cake on Sebastian's birthday, but that didn't stop him from tossing around the contents of a big bowl of popcorn! He now tries to eat it when we play with popcorn, so no more of that game.... :(
Sebastian has had three sinus infections, and he has NEVER had a fever with them. Is there a chance that the fever could be something else? Sorry the wean didn't go all that well.

Can someone photoshop a helmet and some kneepadsonto Jedd in this picture so you can give my nerves a break? :)

oh, poor Jedd! I hope he feels better soon.

I'm not making light of the situation by saying this, but it's actually *good* in the sense that you know he's puking for a particular reason, one that isn't necessarily associated with eating!!! I hope your streak continues once he's feeling better. Huge Hugs Jessica!!!

Check with your
doctor first!
