katiesmommy
Tracey, mom to Katie diagnosed with GERD at 3 week.
Thank you!!!

Thak you all for your kind words! I have tears flowing down my face because I know that you guys are in the same boat and you understand in ways that the people I see every day don't. You are my friends even if we have never met and I take your/childs accomplishments/downturns as if they were happening to us. Thank you so much for lifting me up!

Melissa-I had to copy it from an online dictionary! There's no way I could spell it, hence why it is not being repeated! :)

Jennifer - 1st time mom. Lauren (6/1/07) diagnosed 9/07 with GER at 3 1/2 months. Prevacid 7.5 mg in the am. Currently drinking whole milk and eating great!!
No longer aspirating! Yippee!
Picture: Why would Lauren play with the hundreds of dollars worth of toys scattered in my living room?!?! When she could play in a box! Estimated move date: Oct. 3rd!
Absolutely, until I found this forum I was about to lose my mind -- seriously. I had made an appointment to see my doctor for postpartum medication because I was so upset all the time. Then I found the ladies here, with their wonderful advice and kind words and I have never looked back. I credit PAGER with my sanity!!!!!!!!!

I am sorry you had such "fun" today. Don't you feel like you should carry a brochure or something? Then anytime you get an "uneducated" [not the word I want to use but it will work] comment, you can just hand them a brochure and walk away. LOL.

I am glad the ladies were here to help you today. There is a great group of women on this forum and there is nothing like talking to someone who has been there. No one else will ever "get it" like another reflux mama.

Vent anytime. I hope your day got better!! BTW...Are you feeling better?? Hope you aren't getting sick.

Mom (Danie) to Adam (9-4-03) & Nate (3-7-07) Nate was diagnosed with silent AR at 2 months old. He was on neocate, prevacid 30mg per day and couldn't start solids till he was almost 8 months old. He started cow's milk at 14 months and is currently off all meds!! So far so good :) PIC: Disney trip 2008. Nate didn't know Piglet was there, he didn't like the characters too much.
I have been venting here for over a year now!! We are all here for each other. Funny how I am closest to people I have never met before.

Tracey, I get so much joy when new mommies join PAGER, and they are like, "WOW, I'm NOT alone". I can never express with words what it is like to have support from such a wonderful network of women. I always tell people with reflux babies....GET SUPPORT!! So many people brush us off as being overly dramatic...."It's just reflux" or "oh my baby spit up, it was no big deal". Here, we have all educated one another and continue to do so. I cried and cried and cried in the early months, until I found PAGER, and could talk out my feelings instead of feeling like a crazy, failure of a mother, bottling it all up inside. The best thing you can do when someone is being insensitive is to educate them. The more others understand how GERD effects children and families, the better.

The only bad thing about PAGER is that everyone is so spread out across US and Canada, and we may never have the opportunity to hug our friends and their little ones in person. :( We have to send chocolate instead :P

Check with your
doctor first!
