Back from the GI, update!
All went well today and I am very impressed with this doctor. I really felt like she really understood what we are going through. She said she is on too much prevacid and lowered the dose but since she said we were going back to the basics she actually said lets try Axel and Bethancol. She also switched her formula to Enfamil Gentlese so I hope that helps too. Finally she mentioned that she needs to sleep and always be on an incline not laying flat. She suggested the tucker sling. Anyone have one? ARe they worth it? Is there a cheepier product? Heahter

Zack born 09/28/07 @ 31 weeks. Dx silent reflux @ 6 mo. Now not so silent. Switched to Elecare @ 9 mo. On Prevacid 15mg 1x daily. Looking to stop the puke and gain some lbs.
Puke stopped about 24 months and he's learning to eat...very slowly.
Still on prevacid and periactin.
We bought a crib wedge for about 15$ and it worked great until Zack got too wiggly at night. I have seen several people who rigged a cloth diaper to hold the kid in place...sewn to the sheet...something like that. Might be worth a try before you invest in the tucker...check out are suggestions for different things to try.

Jackie (3/01)
Payton (9/03)
Abby (4/06) Prevacid 7.5mg (evening), MSPI, goats milk (currently trying to wean off Prevacid)
Def check out Ebay for the Tucker Sling, that is where we got ours and it was much cheaper. You also might want out the Guardian Sleeper that advertises on this site. Here is the website for that It is much cheaper then the Tucker Sling.

Tracey, mom to Katie diagnosed with GERD at 3 week.

I thought she was on too much Prevacid from your first post....our pedi kept upping Katie's meds but the GI said if they are too high then they produce the same symptoms as not enough.

If your lo sleeps in one spot I would try elevating the crib; that never worked for Katie because she is/was all over the crib and I would come in to find her face pressed up against the side because she had moved but the incline made her go sideways or off-kilter. We had to start her sleeping on her side at 2 months since she couldn't be elevated. Our pedi only recently told us about the Tucker Sling at an age where she could climb out of it or not learn to sleep with it!

Sharon, Mom to Elyse, 17 mos (15 mos adjusted-preemie). Zantac/Elecare. History of: Respiratory Distress Syndrome with ventilation/CPAP/cannula, tpn, n/g tube, PDA, jaundice, apnea, bradycardia/tachycardia, severe anemia, blood transfusion, reflux, Sandifer's Syndrome, intestinal malrotation, hemangiomas, MSPI, feeding issues. ICU inpatient 53 days! 2 surgeries, 2 UGIs, barium enema, pH probe, endoscopy. Developmentally on target now! PIC: Yobaby Beard
I loved the tucker sling! I got it half price from someone on this site. We used it until she started getting mad about being restrained and was able to get out! We only used the cheapie wedge briefly because there was almost no incline. When we did use it, we put folded receiving blankets under it to make it higher. This was before she was rolling, etc.

Jennifer - 1st time mom. Lauren (6/1/07) diagnosed 9/07 with GER at 3 1/2 months. Prevacid 7.5 mg in the am. Currently drinking whole milk and eating great!!
No longer aspirating! Yippee!
Picture: Why would Lauren play with the hundreds of dollars worth of toys scattered in my living room?!?! When she could play in a box! Estimated move date: Oct. 3rd!
We have used the Tuckersling and AR pillow both. The tucker sling at home in the crib and the AR pillow at the sitter's house in the pack and play. Both worked great until Lauren was about 7 months old and became frustrated with it. We also always put Lauren face down on either device. This was of course with Dr. permission and it seemed to help a lot. I got both off of ebay for a fraction of the price. Good luck!

We also had the same issue with Lauren's prevacid dose being too high! Once we went to a pedi GI and she lowered it a little Lauren was much happier :)

Coyle Eagan. One Year Old. Doing well on Cow's Milk flavored with juice :) Drinking two bottles of Go&Grow daily. Eating solids better but still have rough days. No More Silent Reflux-that I can hear anyway.. but puking again. Zantac 2ML 2X daily.
from aged 3 weeks to about 10 weeks mine slept in the fisher price glider. LOVED that thing until he got more mobile. then for about another 6 weeks mine slept either on me or my dh on an incline in a rocker. he then transitioned to his tummy in the crib.. not advocating. i'd try ebay for the tucker if you are looking @ using one.

Well she said that she doesn't need to be elevated more than 30 degrees and that a regular wedge would be fine but thought the tucker sling only would work as I already find her down at the bottom or up against the side, turned sidewase, she is a mover. So I am going to start looking for one. If anyone see's one forsale let me know. Oh, she said the wedge for the tucker is kid of overboard since she is already sleeping so well.
Check with your
doctor first!
