Jessica, Mommy to Jedd, severe reflux, severe food and oral aversions, Finally G tube free!!! VSD repair 4-24-07 (open heart surgery), hypospadias, repaired 3 times and Ear tubes Visit Jedd at his CB site:
Does Anyone LIKE Their DMW!?!?!?!?!
Because I would really like to hear if the experience is EVER a good one...really....

I get there and the front has NO stroller access. So I just make my way up the steps with the stroller.

I get inside wait, get my ticket, ect....Sit down fill out my forms and then let Jedd out of the stroller because there is NO way he is gonna wait IN the stroller that long...LOL

So the security guard comes up to me and says "he's goona have to stay IN the stroller or IN your arms".....I say I can try but if he gets too upset he is gonna puke on all of us because of a medical condition.

So I take him back over away from her and to the stroller. I play with him get to to scribble on a few things.

I pick up my OJ from breakfast and take a sip. Now mind you I am sitting on the floor the only way she could see me is if she is purposefully wathcing ONLY me.....

So here she comes again.....she says "Can you not read, you're not allowed to drink in here, is THAT so your son's medical condition!!!" She says it all rude and EXTREMELY sarcastic like she doesn't believe me about Jedd's issues....

I said I'll throw it away, stand up holding Jedd arm and taek a sip while trying to make my way to the trash.

Well, apparently that did not make her any more happy, like I care at that moment with how rude she is being....

So she snatches the drink out of my hand and from my lips and marches away without saying a word.

I settle back down with Jedd. About 20mins later my number is called. I am getting him back into the stroller when I hear a differnet number called for MY WINDOW!!!!!!!! NOw give me abreak. My number was only called 2 times and I am supposed to get to the window that fast with a kid in tow!!!!

I get to the window, mind you before the other person who does NOT have a kid and he tells me I HAVE TO WAIT SINCE HE CALLED SOMEONE ELSE!!!!!

I said I was getting my son into the stroller and you only called me TWICE!!!!!! Now mind you again. While I was ther ethye called other numbers about 5-6 times and then the guard YELLED the number a t the top of her lungs, this did NOT happen to me!!!!!

So I sit and give JEdd his yogurt since it is time for him to have that. For some reason, the guard did NOT mess with me this time becasue man I was READY with an ear full by this time!!!!!

I have to wait another 10mins while he deals with that person and then it's my turn.

I go to wait to get my picutre re-taken and Jedd decides to throw his pacifier under the door leading to the picture takers spot. I retrieve it once by reaching under the door, I didn't open the door or go in, because well regarless of what the guard thinks I CAN READ!!!!

Well, wouldn't you guess it but he LOVELY guard comes over the second time Jedd does it....she says "HE CAN"T do that again You NEED to move him!!!!" She retrives it I try to be nice and say thank you.

They finally call me for my picture an shortly after that I get to leave purgatory!!!!! YEAH!!!!!

So, if I didn't like the DMV BEFORE I had children I REALLY don't like them any better now!!!!!!

Mom (Danie) to Adam (9-4-03) & Nate (3-7-07) Nate was diagnosed with silent AR at 2 months old. He was on neocate, prevacid 30mg per day and couldn't start solids till he was almost 8 months old. He started cow's milk at 14 months and is currently off all meds!! So far so good :) PIC: Disney trip 2008. Nate didn't know Piglet was there, he didn't like the characters too much.
Jessica, you are awesome!! I have to say...I have never been there with either of my kids. I will go out of my way to get someone to watch the boys and LUCKILY, I have always found someone!! I know most don't have a choice but to take there lo's with them. I always see kids in there...and the looks they get from some of the employees/other customers makes me want to say something. I can't stand it when people give dirty looks OR say RUDE things when you have to try to contain lo's ANYWHERE!!

Man...I am just having a day where I am po'd at the world, LMAO!! I am about to head to the grocery store...better watch out people...if Nate cries (like he always does) they better not even look our way or I will EXPLODE!!

Back to you...good for you for feeding him his yogurt. They shouldn't have to be told of ANY med condition...non of their business. Toddlers are toddlers...they are gonna throw, spill, scream and get into things. I say this...EVERY place should be child proof now days AND they should have play areas :) That's my 2 cents ;)

I guess it is true what they say about being "MN nice" we have a great DMV but it is for a bunch of smaller cities. Not totally child proof but there are no #'s called or security guards. You just wait your turn in line and it usually is only about a 15 min wait. (((HUGS))) I'm sorry she was so rude.

Tracey, mom to Katie diagnosed with GERD at 3 week.
Jessica, if you lived in Ca. you could sue the security guard for touching your drink while it was in your hands! 20 different lawyers at the DMV would have pounced on you immediately with business cards! :)

Melissa - Mommy to Sebastian, born 9/28/07 @ 7 lbs 7 oz and 20.75 in. At docs at 12 months: 27 pounds and 32 in! Good grief! GERD - currently on Prevacid suspension (liquid equivalent of 45 mg a day). Allergic to dairy, soy, eggs, wheat, all treenuts, peanuts, fish, shellfish, peas, sesame, bananas, barley, coconut, dust, dust mite, dog, cat, latex. Seasonal allergies. Oral Allergy Syndrome (OAS). Neocate only - no solids - until further notice (drinks and loves water, too). Loves his doggie, our rescued Treeing Walker Coonhound, Louise, even though he is allergic to her. Louise will make your doctor a homemade pie if you would like her to. PHOTO: We couldn't do a cake on Sebastian's birthday, but that didn't stop him from tossing around the contents of a big bowl of popcorn! He now tries to eat it when we play with popcorn, so no more of that game.... :(
I cannot BELIEVE she grabbed your drink out of your hand! OMG! I totally would have called up my roots and gone Baltimore on her. What a giant wench. You should have made a comment about liking women in uniform so she'd have been uncomfortable and wanted you out of there ASAP. In situations like this, pray on the weaknesses of the jerks!

I used ot like our DMV because it is an express office tucked away in a little strip mall...but that was until I got married and went in to change my name. I had no idea that I'd have to take a new picture, and I went in there looking like total white trash in a wifebeater and a Britney Spears-esque bun on my head. I am so embarrased to whip out my license...especially when I actually go somewhere nice and get carded.

This would have been a great time for Jedd to summon up some projectile vomit!

ethan's mom
Mom to Ethan, born 4/23/08. Diagnosed with Reflux at about 1 month, started medicating with Zantac, which wasn't helpful for us. At about 2.5 months, we started on Prevacid, twice a day, and that is working much better.
Ethan is breastfed and has a few solids that he is enjoying very much.
I am with you. Someone stole the tags from my car, and I am driving around without any, just to avoid going!

Coyle Eagan. One Year Old. Doing well on Cow's Milk flavored with juice :) Drinking two bottles of Go&Grow daily. Eating solids better but still have rough days. No More Silent Reflux-that I can hear anyway.. but puking again. Zantac 2ML 2X daily.
ours mostly suck because the people aren't too friendly either... otherwise i oculd never imagine an incident like that one tho!
