Our Streak Ended Today
And I am a tiny bit sad....

Yes, Jedd has not had a vomit during a mealtime or snack time since June 25th!!!!!!

He had one this A.M. at breakfast, all be it on the LAST BITE!!!!

Well, now we get to start over again.

He ahs had vomits when he gags or chokes os real food from the table but not on baby food.

Here's to hoping we go longer this time!!!!!

Oh and he is trying to self feed from a spoon!!!!!!!!! I load it up and he gets it to his mouth!!!! So during 3each feed we BOTH have spoons in our hands.

That might not sound like an accomplishment but, the spoon he is using is a REAL baby spoon. One of those hard metal coated ones!!!!!!

He has in the past only eaten off of my special flexible long skinny Z-Vibe spoon. It's made for kids with eating issues!!!!

So this is HUGE!!!!!!!!!

Mom (Danie) to Adam (9-4-03) & Nate (3-7-07) Nate was diagnosed with silent AR at 2 months old. He was on neocate, prevacid 30mg per day and couldn't start solids till he was almost 8 months old. He started cow's milk at 14 months and is currently off all meds!! So far so good :) PIC: Disney trip 2008. Nate didn't know Piglet was there, he didn't like the characters too much.
Hey, IMHO, EVERY accomplishment is a BIG deal. I am so happy he is using the spoon. I was bummed to read about the vomiting but hopefully it was a one time deal. I am going to google the spoon you mention...Adam had a very hard time with using the spoon and reading how the lo's here are doing so well, I want to get Nate started NOW.

Melissa - Mommy to Sebastian, born 9/28/07 @ 7 lbs 7 oz and 20.75 in. At docs at 12 months: 27 pounds and 32 in! Good grief! GERD - currently on Prevacid suspension (liquid equivalent of 45 mg a day). Allergic to dairy, soy, eggs, wheat, all treenuts, peanuts, fish, shellfish, peas, sesame, bananas, barley, coconut, dust, dust mite, dog, cat, latex. Seasonal allergies. Oral Allergy Syndrome (OAS). Neocate only - no solids - until further notice (drinks and loves water, too). Loves his doggie, our rescued Treeing Walker Coonhound, Louise, even though he is allergic to her. Louise will make your doctor a homemade pie if you would like her to. PHOTO: We couldn't do a cake on Sebastian's birthday, but that didn't stop him from tossing around the contents of a big bowl of popcorn! He now tries to eat it when we play with popcorn, so no more of that game.... :(
Every time I see you signature my heart jumps in fear that your chlild is about to be flattened by a semi.

Congrats on the spoon! that is a big accomplishment for sure!!! Little guy is progressing at lightening speed, really.

Sharon, Mom to Elyse, 17 mos (15 mos adjusted-preemie). Zantac/Elecare. History of: Respiratory Distress Syndrome with ventilation/CPAP/cannula, tpn, n/g tube, PDA, jaundice, apnea, bradycardia/tachycardia, severe anemia, blood transfusion, reflux, Sandifer's Syndrome, intestinal malrotation, hemangiomas, MSPI, feeding issues. ICU inpatient 53 days! 2 surgeries, 2 UGIs, barium enema, pH probe, endoscopy. Developmentally on target now! PIC: Yobaby Beard
Not cool that he broke the streak, but cool that he went that long! We have never had that long a streak, but I believe we are at about 3 weeks now....Elyse is trying to self feed, mostly just playing with her spoon AND fork. She likes to get food on it out of a bowl and then bang it on the tray to get it off....and repeat.
Check with your
doctor first!
