|Are you sitting down? Here is goes. My dh was scheduled to have a vasectomy on July 11th. The weekend of the 4th I had not started my period. July 5th when I woke up I took a home pregnancy test. It came up positive. I was shocked-and I will admit not so happy. I did not want another baby. I have had 2 refluxers and MSPI babies. I was done. Then on the 10th I went into the doctor for blood work and a sono. Sure enough there was a baby sack in there. I was measuring 4-5 weeks.
On the 21st I started bleeding heavily (bright red) and cramping. I called the doctor and went in immed and they did a pelvic exam and another sono. In the sono the baby sac was still there but it had not grown at all and there was still no heartbeat-at that stage we should have seen the fetal pole and a faint heartbeat. I was loosing the baby. I went sent home w/ pain pills and in hopes my body would rid itself of the baby.
Then I went back yesterday for my 2 wk checkup to make sure everything was gone. I told him I am still bleeding, having right side pain, still a little nauseaed. They did a blood draw and a pelvic exam. After the exam he said my right side is still very full but he did not want to make any guesses. He wanted a sono asap to see what we would need to do. We were all thinking tubal preg. I went in for the sono-they got me in in front of everyone in the waiting room-so I assumed the worst. While doing the sono she saw the sac and said still nothing there. Then she started looking more-low and behold she saw the fetal pole then there it was-a heartbeat! It is very faint and slow. I am measuring 6wks, which I should be almost 9wks. If indeed I am only 6wks everything looked normal for a 6 wk pg. If I am 9 wks then there is something wrong. The nurse called yesterday with the HCG levels and I had gone from just over 2000 to 28,424. So that was good news. I go back in 2 wks for another sono and blood work. It is going to be a long 2 wks! We are scared to get excited but it is hard not to get excited. If that makes sense.
Hope that all made sense. Weird story, but this baby is giving us one heck of a rollercoaster ride!
