My Miracle Baby-Mommyto2
Yes-you read that right! I went to my OB this morning fulling expecting to need and DNC. I go in and talk to the doc and he wants a full workup-blood and sono. He did a pelvic exam and said something isn't right, which I knew. He said the right said still feels full and not to mention it is tender. Then I go to the sono. I would not have believed it if I hadn't seen it myself-there is a HEARTBEAT! Yes!! There is a fetal pole and a heartbeat neither of which have been seen before.

Now for the kicker. I am measuring 6wks and should be 9wks. The heartbeat is weak and slow-which is normal for a 6wker. We are basically proceeding w/ caution at this point. It is a miracle, of course all babies are, but we are stunned. I am still concerned about the size but at this point the doc thinks I have a viable 6wks pregnancy. I go back in 2wks for more blood and sono (we are self pay at this doc btw so this is expensive!) and we will re-measure and see what is going on then and go from there. He is still concerned about all the bleeding and cramping but to call w/ any more concerns.

This has been one heck of a rollercoaster ride and both the doc and the sonographer said "It ain't over yet." Neither one have ever seen this before. I was in tears. I do not know what to think. I am too afraid to get too excited. Only God knows. Please pray for a happy ending! Thanks Jennifer

FYI: I had help and the very day I saw his heartbeat for the first time, I started to cramp and bleed. I bed rested until the bleeding stopped (couple hours) and then everything was fine. Good luck!

Meridith
Mom to Ethan, born 4/23/08. Diagnosed with Reflux at about 1 month, started medicating with Zantac, which wasn't helpful for us. At about 2.5 months, we started on Prevacid, twice a day, and that is working much better.
Ethan is breastfed and has a few solids that he is enjoying very much.
Congratulations. I had something sort of similar happen with Ethan, and other than the reflux he is doing great.

Can't believe I'm reading this! OMG!! this is EXACTLY what happened to me with Coyle!! only, i went back 3 days later not 2 WHOLE weeks. !!! Amazing! He too measured small from then on and then I had him early due to decreased fetal movement & non-existent blood pressure in the umbilical cord..@ 36 weeks. please get lots and lots of rest and take it easy! OH, and I continued to bleed for a few more weeks as well......what a miracle

I posted this when you first started having problems, but I will say it again....I bled on and off thruout my pregnancy, in the beginning we thought m/c, then diagnosed with placenta previa, then the previa went away, then it was "unexplained"....I visited a support forum a lot with my first pregnancy (which WAS a m/c) that had tons of stories of women who were told they had m/c but did not and gave birth to healthy babies! YAY!!

Thanks for the link. I will def check it out. The bleeding scares the heck out of me. I am still bleeding like a period and this has been going on for over 2 wks. I wonder if that is my body trying to loose the baby and it is fighting-who knows. I will keep yall posted. I have put myself on modified bed rest in hopes of getting rid of the bleeding. I know there is nothing I can do to prevent a m/c but I am so sick of the bleeding.
Check with your
doctor first!
