Melissa - Mommy to Sebastian, born 9/28/07 @ 7 lbs 7 oz and 20.75 in. At docs at 12 months: 27 pounds and 32 in! Good grief! GERD - currently on Prevacid suspension (liquid equivalent of 45 mg a day). Allergic to dairy, soy, eggs, wheat, all treenuts, peanuts, fish, shellfish, peas, sesame, bananas, barley, coconut, dust, dust mite, dog, cat, latex. Seasonal allergies. Oral Allergy Syndrome (OAS). Neocate only - no solids - until further notice (drinks and loves water, too). Loves his doggie, our rescued Treeing Walker Coonhound, Louise, even though he is allergic to her. Louise will make your doctor a homemade pie if you would like her to. PHOTO: We couldn't do a cake on Sebastian's birthday, but that didn't stop him from tossing around the contents of a big bowl of popcorn! He now tries to eat it when we play with popcorn, so no more of that game.... :(
The FIL who trashpicks in a mining helmet has struck again -OT
Yes, I suppose I should have known better when my father-in-law offered to help us move. I mean, the man gave my baby (and dog) a deflated balloon around Christmastime, and hs wife gave him a Target plastic bag a few months back. The man also really does go through his neighbors' trash on trahs night looking for treasures (I got a lovely toe ring once and some PCP pipe for Christmas, along with an open pack of those magnetic key holders you stick under your car), and he really did cook up with potatoes some cicadas he got in his backyard one night. HOWEVER, I just was NOT prepared to see him wrap Sebastian's crib IN THE BLANKET HE PUTS UNDER HIS CAR WHEN HE CHANGES THE OIL and shove it in a U-Haul. Nor did I expect to come downstairs last night to find that he had indeed installed a baby gate, but not before he drilled about 15 holes in the banister of THE HOUSE I MOVED INTO ON SUNDAY NIGHT...NOR DID I EXPECT TO SEE THAT HE HAD CHOPPED ABOUT FIVE INCHES OFF THE BOTTOM OF THE GATE SO HE COULD MAKE IT "fit."

Ok. Well, at least none of his "favors' involved food and my son.

Picture: This is what happens when you raise a kid on health food and they get ahold of a Coke! Bad mom, that soda is NOT on the reflux diet.
UPDATE: Isaiah is now 12 and off meds! He is doing great, eating again and hopefully will be catching up in the growing department. I am still in the "hoping it sticks" phase, but we're so happy that he's better!
Oh, man....that's all I have to say right now, ohhhhhh mannnnnn.

daughter Emma born 7/25/07
I am so sorry. But I am right there with you. My FIL just left - we have a groundhog issue. he wants us to trap them so he can cook them on the grill for dinner - and he's serious. UGH!

Plus my FIL is a trash picker too - except he waits till neighborhoods have large pick up day and looks for big stuff. just last week he got a sofa from along the road - scrubbed all night on the stains that were on it and is now trying to sell it at a consignment store - yuck. he is not allowed to do any projects in my house without dh's supervision either.

Tracey, mom to Katie diagnosed with GERD at 3 week.

Wait!!! I thought you were on th East Coast; what are my in-laws doing back there?? No matter, you can keep them!

Seriously Melissa, that is just awful but I am glad that I am not the only one with in-laws that you don't want favors from. We bought our house when I was 7 months pregnant and moved in at 8 mos. and the house needed some work. FIL suggested that my husband start painting a side of the house and just keep working his way around until it was over. He has done this on his house and only a few sides are painted. Needless to say their house is very classy!

PCP pipe! Hilarious!!!!! Was the toe ring nice?? ;P
