allergists in Phila. area
Molly had her 1 year check-up and I got names/numbers of allergists from the doctors office. We don't need referrals so I am just going to call one to get an appointment. In addition to milk, I think she is also having a reaction to eggs. Is there anyone in the Phila. area that has seen an allergist you would recommend? We are in the suburbs outside of the city, but it only takes 20-30 minutes to get into the city. I have numbers for CHOP, DuPont, Crozer, and Riddle Hospital. Has anyone seen any of the doctors from those hospitals, or others in the area that you liked?

JMO but with food allergies you are best off going to CHOP. I would completely skip Crozer and Riddle for anything peds related. Spergel and Pawlowski at CHOP are both very good. There is also Wodell in Wynnewood who I liked very much though we used him for pulmo before we moved that to CHOP as well because his issues were too complex.

Melissa - Mommy to Sebastian, born 9/28/07 @ 7 lbs 7 oz and 20.75 in. At docs at 12 months: 27 pounds and 32 in! Good grief! GERD - currently on Prevacid suspension (liquid equivalent of 45 mg a day). Allergic to dairy, soy, eggs, wheat, all treenuts, peanuts, fish, shellfish, peas, sesame, bananas, barley, coconut, dust, dust mite, dog, cat, latex. Seasonal allergies. Oral Allergy Syndrome (OAS). Neocate only - no solids - until further notice (drinks and loves water, too). Loves his doggie, our rescued Treeing Walker Coonhound, Louise, even though he is allergic to her. Louise will make your doctor a homemade pie if you would like her to. PHOTO: We couldn't do a cake on Sebastian's birthday, but that didn't stop him from tossing around the contents of a big bowl of popcorn! He now tries to eat it when we play with popcorn, so no more of that game.... :(
If you can stand the drive, I would go see Dr. Wood at Hopkins. He is the leading allergist in the country and is AWESOME. We have seen three allergists in 10 months, and he blows everyone else away (although I really like allergist #2). You coul also call his office and ask for suggestions in the Phily area. ..

Patti, mommy to:
Max (3/04), reflux, EE, sinus surgery, asthma Lucy (6/07), reflux
Our son has multiple food and seasonal allergies as well as EE. We were seeing Dr. Brown at CHOP. She was fabulous but it was often difficult to get an appointment. I really did like her, though. She had a wonderful bedside manner and was very knowledgeable. We currently see Dr. Matthew Fogg out of Allergy and Asthma Specialists in Blue Bell. He is just as great as the CHOP docs without the hassles of CHOP scheduling. He did his residency and fellowship at CHOP's allergy department.

Thanks so much! I was really hoping there would be someone from this area to give me an opinion. I called CHOP and they have an office in Springfield, which is about 10 minutes from me!! And they had an opening next week, so we will get in really quickly. Melissa- If this appointment doesn't go well I will keep Dr. Wood in mind. It isn't that far of a drive for us, but Molly hates the car so it wouldn't be pleasant! Thanks!
