Audrey Meadow 06/20/08. born 34/35 weeks. Still b/f and eats everything! ftt and chronic constipation.
emily and audrey-otman i finally have a min... emi is sleeping and so is little a. we have had a long 3 days... I think emi IS teething her 2 year molars she is biting me and her fingers so i think that is more the reason for her night wakings and eating less and eternal thirst. Her diarehea has stopped!! (for the time being) i can't jinx myself b/c i know it is bound to happen again soon. i know the diarehea is always going to come back so i am just enjoying the good tummy days as they come! I will say something that will jinx myself but i feel it needs to be said to test it... I am seriously thinking about med weaning *gasp!* I can't wait to tell the GI i think it may be time to try it :)
audrey audrey audrey... my little vampire baby. sleeps all day up till 4 in the morning... yesterday was horrible. She had not had a b/m in 5 days. I called the pedi and asked them if i should give another suppository. They told me rectal stimulation, with didn't work- then try to give her an ounce of apple juice. I told them i was not comfortable with that. She said prune juice, (which i got for emi about a month ago but she refuses to drink it, don't blame her!) for some reason i was okay with that.
i tired to get A to drink it she got down a half ounce and 10 mins later projectile vomited like i had never seen before, she heaved for a bit then fell asleep. instantly i felt awful. well i cleaned her up in her sleep and when she woke up she was grunting and trying to go. the next nurse said sugar water would work, well you know my feelings on sugar... but i tried it she vomited 3 more times before the end of the night. i finally gave her a suppository and 3 hours later she pooped.
now i checked kelly mom to see about breastfed babies and pooping. and they said it is normal at about 6 weeks for a newborn to go 3-7 days w/o a b/m. well A is 5 weeks today (her "b-day" adjusted) and this started 2 weeks ago. the pedi said this info was not correct in her case. i didn't get a chance to ask what "her case" was but i will find out on monday. until then i am not to give her a suppository or anything else and he will check her belly on monday.
A and emi have had a pretty chill day today so hopefully later tonight i can hop on here and catch up with some of you *hugs* to you all! :)

Maggie is now 3 years old and reflux free (knock on wood). I still check in some to see how everybody is doing :) Hugs to all!
|Ugh, I don't know if there's more going on with Audrey, but i remember Maggie going up to 9 days without pooping. It bothered me too, but the ped assured me that as long as she wasn't visibly having trouble it was ok. I guess her vomitting the juice and sugar water isn't a good sign for you, huh. |
I was told today that Morgan's dr is having twins. She was in the hospital and she's only 34wks. They're trying to hold her off till next week. Sound familiar?
I hope the suppository works and she feels better.
Maggie has been waking once during the night, I also think it's teeth. She needs them so I'm not complaining too much, lol.

Mom to Jasmine aka: Jazz 01/24/2007
Dx with silent reflux at 8 months
FPIES, DGE, MSPI. Recently diagnosed with EC (Eosin. colitis and now Primary immune deficiency disease.
Also mom to Nathan. born Jan.20th, 2009, MPI . so far dx with reflux and has an extremely sensitibe GI system. Also dx with primary immune deficiency disease.
|Poor baby!! and poor mommy too. It is definately not normal for any baby to go that long without a poop, but you know that when you see your little one trying to go (grunting, vomitting etc..) that something MUST be done. Good on you for giving the suppository anyways. I can't imgaine the poor little thing having to actually wait until Monday for relief!!! Breastfed babies should poop at least once a day, if not more. Hopefully nothing is going on with your little one. Good luck!|

Tracey, mom to Katie diagnosed with GERD at 3 week.
|Poor little thing!! I hope she gets better soon!
Katie pooped at the longest every other day while breastfeeding. One pedi told me that constipated refers to how hard she has to push to poop and not the consistency or frequency. I told him I didn't think little hard rabbit turds were right for a baby who mostly drinks formula. I was not impressed with him.
BTW: did you ever think you would be talking about consistency/frequency of poop when you were younger? :)|

Seamus was born 7/6/07, one month early with Silent Reflux. Zantac since 3 weeks old, currently taking herbs and probiotics.
|When Seamus was exclusively breastfed, I was really worried about the constipation. My doc said that they are assimilating the milk so well there is little waste..It made me feel good to hear that..Have you considered giving her a belly rub? If you get some oil or lotion and rub her belly in a clockwise direction, it will stimulate elimination. I give these belly rubs to Seamus after he has had a warm bath. Good luck tonight!|

|It's good to hear from / see you on here:) Thanks for the update. I think of you and girls often. I hope Audrey gets her pooping straight. Nolan had problems too and that would cause him to vomit more also. My doc said going several days was normal but I think it affected his reflux so much so I started the corn syrup and that got us by for many months. Good luck!|
