switching formula
I am switching a daycare kids formula per the doctors request. He was getting simalac neosure because he is a premmie but because of his growth the doc said he no longer needs the extra calories. So we are switching him to Parent's Choice regular milk based formula. I have just been giving him 2 oz out of 6 to try things out and he has developed a rash on his checks and forehead. He also seems to be spitting up more but it is usually his morning feed only cause he is sucking it down so fast. Could the rash be from the formula switch? His bowels have changed a little too. They are a little looser but not liquid. The rash it just little white pin size bumps. It is only on his face too. Anyone else have a reaction like this. They are both milk based products so I'm not sure if it really is the formula. What's your opinion?

Jennifer - 1st time mom. Lauren (6/1/07) diagnosed 9/07 with GER at 3 1/2 months. Prevacid 7.5 mg in the am. Currently drinking whole milk and eating great!!
No longer aspirating! Yippee!
Picture: Why would Lauren play with the hundreds of dollars worth of toys scattered in my living room?!?! When she could play in a box! Estimated move date: Oct. 3rd!
I wonder if it's something to do with the generic???

Josh 12 yrs colic as a baby
Jenna 6 yrs dream baby
Jessica (6/11/07) Silent reflux dx at 3 weeks
Went off meds successfully at 3 mos
Went back on Prevacid 8 mg TID 1/3/08
I would take him in ASAP and have the doctor look at that rash. You don't want to mess with a milk allergy and the doc can put you at ease if it's another kind of rash. Cristy

Coyle Eagan. One Year Old. Doing well on Cow's Milk flavored with juice :) Drinking two bottles of Go&Grow daily. Eating solids better but still have rough days. No More Silent Reflux-that I can hear anyway.. but puking again. Zantac 2ML 2X daily.
neosure and parents choice are essentially the same thing except neosure just had added fat and extra nutrients put in (mine was on it in the hospital and @ home) i'd be hestitant to think its the formula. he'd get looser tho since there is actually less iron in this formula than the neosure. how old? the neosure is really thick too so he could be spitting up more since the parents choice is thinner.

He is 7 mon. 6 mon adjusted. I really don't think it is the formula either. We (his mom and me) think it is more of a heat rash. She's going to watch him over the weekend.

Lauren's had a heat rash a few times...I actually thought it was a problem with our sunscreen and bought a different one because it happened every time I put in on her. Then my neighbor pointed out that she also gets really hot outside, where she's got the sunscreen on, duh...
