katiesmommy
Tracey, mom to Katie diagnosed with GERD at 3 week.
Uggghhhhh........stupid husband
Ok, I make it a point to not bash my husband as I know that I definitely have my short comings but I could just kill him!! Katie has been having a good week but we don't EVER comment on it; I just say she is having a good day. You know, they don't spend all day crying, whinning, rejecting food or drink and keep entirely to their schedule. Well, my MIL called last night to see how Katie has been doing (that in itself was a shocker since she forgets we have a child) and dh (not dear or darling) told her Katie has been doing great. I immediately was telling him that he has jinxed me!! Thought it would be that I would have a sleepless night since that is usually how it works. She woke up earlier than usual and was a crying, whinning mess! She would allow me to feed her 5 bites of ice cream and shaved ice which really seemed to help numb her little throat but once the cold wore off we were back to crying. Uhhhhhhhh........do only moms know that you should never jinx yourself? I didn't even want to post that taking her off of oatmeal seemed to help for fear that we would regress; which we did. Well, thank you for listening to me rant and I hope your (and your dd or ds) is going better than ours!

Melissa - Mommy to Sebastian, born 9/28/07 @ 7 lbs 7 oz and 20.75 in. At docs at 12 months: 27 pounds and 32 in! Good grief! GERD - currently on Prevacid suspension (liquid equivalent of 45 mg a day). Allergic to dairy, soy, eggs, wheat, all treenuts, peanuts, fish, shellfish, peas, sesame, bananas, barley, coconut, dust, dust mite, dog, cat, latex. Seasonal allergies. Oral Allergy Syndrome (OAS). Neocate only - no solids - until further notice (drinks and loves water, too). Loves his doggie, our rescued Treeing Walker Coonhound, Louise, even though he is allergic to her. Louise will make your doctor a homemade pie if you would like her to. PHOTO: We couldn't do a cake on Sebastian's birthday, but that didn't stop him from tossing around the contents of a big bowl of popcorn! He now tries to eat it when we play with popcorn, so no more of that game.... :(
My husband jinxes me CONSTANTLY. He is always like, "I don't believe in ines," and then wouldn't you know it...Sebastian screams all night or can't poop or something. I love him, but he can be a huge jackass. You're not alone! I think most men just aren't programmed to understand the severity of jinxes!!!
