Hiccups ALL the time suddenly?
Maia had 4 colds/viruses in 4 months (thank you swim lessons pool!), and she was hiccuping frequently when she was getting the colds each time. Now she seems to be over the latest virus for the most part, but she's hiccuping 3+ times per day. Does this mean that her reflux is flaring up? She's 2.5 years-old and the 15 mg. of Prevacid daily has kept her reflux under control this long. Nothing else seems disturbed - sleep and eating are normal.

seamus' mama
Seamus was born 7/6/07, one month early with Silent Reflux. Zantac since 3 weeks old, currently taking herbs and probiotics.
Hmm. Seamus has increased hiccups if he eats solids without enough breastmilk or liquids beforehand or if he is really hungry and gobbles down air. Have you seen a connection with her eating and the hiccups?

Donnessa, mom to Halley born 3/10/07
Reflux (mostly) resolved at 14 months
and Addison born 8/17/09. Currently exclusively bf and on 7.5mg Prevacid
Halley was doing this out of the blue a couple of weeks ago for about 2 weeks. She didn't seem to be uncomfortable, so I just chalked it up to "the unknown" - like so many things she does. I wouldn't worry about it too much if she seems to be comfortable.

It doesn't seem to be related to her eating or drinking. Also, we've noticed that her coughing until her face turns red after drinking water has returned. Her eating and sleep seem unphased, though. I think that she might be in a growth spurt right now, although again I'm really not sure. I don't know why a growth spurt would cause an increase in hiccups though, LOL! Anyways, maybe I need to just chalk it up to the unknown at this point. Reflux is so hard when they are too young to tell you if they're having a flare up!
