Sorry forgot to post the update. Nicholas gave me quite the night, so I definitelty agree with you girls that thought the diet was not a good idea, i did try though but he was still uncofortable I finally gave in around 5 am and nursed him to sleep although he had to be in the carseat again. I left him this morning with a friend and left him 3.5 oz of my bm she said he was really uncomfortable the whole time I was away and only wanted to be carried, the second he went down he would scream. What does that sound like??? I guess my new little one also has reflux, I am going to start the zantac tonight I hope it works. Thanks for all of the the advice, I agree with the breast feeding on demand what the DR just goes against everything I have read about BF. I am also not going to try the rice yet I am going to wait a few weeks and hopefully the meds will work. I wil keep you all updated thanks agian I am truly blessed to have you all. :O)E

I forgot to share I have been on the elimination diet since before I gave birth. I learned form Eddie I was not going to take any chances. I have had non dairy coffee creamer though I guess I should cut that out also.:O(E

Maggie is now 3 years old and reflux free (knock on wood). I still check in some to see how everybody is doing :) Hugs to all!
Well, you know that Maggie would not sleep on her back! I don't want to encourage anyone to do the tummy sleeping but for us it was the only way. Maybe ask the ped about it. We started out trying it during naps to see how she did. Maybe use that as a last resort. We started it before we got her meds and then there was no switching back :)

Mathias Johann - 12/14/05 - GERD, Hypotonia, Sensory Processing Disorder, Dyspraxia; Stopped silently aspirating at 20 months :)
First partial seizure on 7/2; First Endoscopy on 7/16; results: bile reflux gastritis.
New Meds: Zegerid & Carafate
Allergic to dairy
M was the same way - he hated to be put down. I think he slept more in his papasan swing in the beginning than anywhere else. Good Luck with the Zantac! Libby

katiesmommy
Tracey, mom to Katie diagnosed with GERD at 3 week.
Katie refused to take naps anywhere but being held. It was fine for me cause I rested with her and she is our only but I guess with having Eddie you can't exactly do that huh? I'll have to catch up to see what the dr. said about b/f.

Melissa - Mommy to Sebastian, born 9/28/07 @ 7 lbs 7 oz and 20.75 in. At docs at 12 months: 27 pounds and 32 in! Good grief! GERD - currently on Prevacid suspension (liquid equivalent of 45 mg a day). Allergic to dairy, soy, eggs, wheat, all treenuts, peanuts, fish, shellfish, peas, sesame, bananas, barley, coconut, dust, dust mite, dog, cat, latex. Seasonal allergies. Oral Allergy Syndrome (OAS). Neocate only - no solids - until further notice (drinks and loves water, too). Loves his doggie, our rescued Treeing Walker Coonhound, Louise, even though he is allergic to her. Louise will make your doctor a homemade pie if you would like her to. PHOTO: We couldn't do a cake on Sebastian's birthday, but that didn't stop him from tossing around the contents of a big bowl of popcorn! He now tries to eat it when we play with popcorn, so no more of that game.... :(
I held my son for EVERY nap and at nap for the first seven months of hs life. OMG - I can't believe I survived that. I didn't know what to do, and the only way he slept peacefully was when he was being held, so I just stuck with it. Now he is in his crib but honestly, nothing mattered until 1)we got him on Neocate and 2)his Prevacid (which stopped working) kicked in. That said, I would continue trying the nursing and give the zantac a try.
Check with your
doctor first!
