Lost my 33 yr old most physical fit husband 1 year ago, I miss him and his help! Feels so shitty and unfair. My baby getting better is the only thing that would bring my sanity back.
Milk, Nexium.. just touching base
Hi everyone.. I don't come on that often so I hope everyone is doing well. So my son goes for his endoscopy this Friday July 18th... and I am seriously going to lose it if nothing comes of it. My GI thinks I am looney, and that I am over reacting because I lost my husband.. RETARD! So I am going to be at the end of the road IF nothing comes of it.. as I have used all avenues at BC Children's in Vancouver BC Canada. My Pedi says we will try nexium.. that takes 8 weeks? 10mg once a day he said, as we seriously have tried everything else out there. Sigh 2 more months.. again. My son still has breast milk (just about 2 yrs old), mostly at nite, still waking every 1.5 - 2 hrs throughout nite acrching his back.. has breast and goes back to sleep. I read the book Acid Reflux in Infants & Children and balled my eyeballs out, knowing that I AM NOT CRAZY AND THEIR ARE PEOPLE WHO DO UNDERSTAND! Any other tips Mom's on anything? My son has started taking vanilla soy milk, which relieves him. and me and my breasts! Any silent reflux kids ok to have soy milk? I haven't noticed him any worse since he's started? Also any kids out there burp? My does rarely.. he is now starting to belch after a good drink of water.. which I think is GREAT! Went to allergist.. all came back negative.. he was tested for everything you can think of .. skin testing. BUT I know he cannot do dairy, eggs, apples ect. So feedback on meds, soy milk, burping, anything would be appreciated. Was thinking of ear nose throat specialist? Sigh still tired. Keep on keepin' on you kick ars mom's!

Maggie is now 3 years old and reflux free (knock on wood). I still check in some to see how everybody is doing :) Hugs to all!
Hi! Good to hear from you. I hope they don't find anything serious with the endoscopy but some answers would be nice wouldn't they! You're not crazy! He should do ok on soy if your breastmilk hasn't bothered him. I'd hold off with the ENT until after you see how the endo. comes back. Hugs!

HI, i remember ELyse was on a super high dose of nexium too, twice a day, it was similar to what eddie is on and she was only about 4 mos adjusted age at the time and I was FREAKED because it is an adult dose and the pharmacist was worried about it! Burping....Elyse does not burp after drinking nearly as often as she used to. I think it is an age thing. They probably learn not to swallow as much air as they get older, and they can burp on their own without your help. As for soy, of course reflux kids can do soy, unless they are intolerant to the proteins. Soy is not a reflux trigger. Foods that are: acidic foods like tomatoes/citrus, chocolate, caffiene, onions, greasy/fried foods, Elyse is awake,m gotta go sorry!
