Ugghhh, no eating today
Ok, so we have had 2 whole days of Katie drinking a bottle every 2 to 3 hours like a champ and today we are back to 2 oz. and refusing a bottle. They keep telling me it's not her ears and she did have a bad night last night, do you think it could be the reflux making her not want to eat? She was arching her back and refusing food in the middle of the night so I know that the Prevacid is not completely working but she woke up in such a good mood that I was hoping that her good eating would continue today but no such luck. And on top of that we have to see my MIL for lunch which makes me crabby so the two women of the house will not be in a good mood this afternoon!

Coyle Eagan. One Year Old. Doing well on Cow's Milk flavored with juice :) Drinking two bottles of Go&Grow daily. Eating solids better but still have rough days. No More Silent Reflux-that I can hear anyway.. but puking again. Zantac 2ML 2X daily.
in my experience it is teeth. believe me i'm an expert on teeth. mine is the same age as yours and has 6 and two more on the way! he refuses to eat when teething. then after it breaks he eats like a champ. teething makes reflux worse plus it hurts to eat for some kids. how many does katie have?

Hi! She has no teeth. We thought it was teeth back when she was 6 months as it completely fits but she fights a bottle. I was just able to get 4 oz. into her by having her lay on the floor on her back while playing with a stuffed animal. When she gets like this she will sometimes take a bottle that way and other times nada. She saw a dr. on Thurs. and Fri. and they both looked for teeth but she doesn't even have the tell-tell swollen gums so I think it just might be reflux related. We saw an ENT yesterday because I am still convinced it has something to do with her ears but they keep telling me her ears are clear. She kept arching and screaming last night while trying to eat while she was asleep and I had her sleep with/on me for awhile until the antacids kicked in and she stopped screaming and actually slept pretty good for a few hours. My husband and I do keep checking her gums though when she gets like this to see if it could be something nice and normal like teething but we never see anything. To top it off she has been a HUGE drooler since 4 months of age because of reflux so we don't even have that as a marker to signal teething (sigh). Hopefully it goes away with her nap!!!

This is our dd, Alessandra. Dx with GER 10/07. Ran the gamut with meds and now done with them (crossed fingers). Using magnesium, probiotics and prebiotic supplements. With the exception of teething and general sassy attitude, all is well now. They really CAN grow out of it!
Just as an add-on, Allie's been teething since 3 mos old, and only had the first 2 break through at 7 mos (with a lot of bottle fighting and food-refusal for WEEKS) and now at nearly 10 mos, we still only have those two to show for it!!!

Cooper teethed for 2 full months at least before getting any teeth. It might just be a flare up. Also, what form of prevacid does she take. The capsules are the only ones that worked for Cooper. ps, sorry I never added about the chiro, I'll try to do that later today.

She takes the solutabs and they do seem to be helping. She currently takes 10.5 mgs at night as we are not sure if they give her migraines too. I tried splitting up the dosage between morning and night and she would get very crabby about 15-30 minutes later like she did with the Zantac right before we switched her to Prevacid. I can get her to eat by having her lay flat on her back on the floor but since I suspect she has ear issues I hate to do that for any period of time but since she has previously gone for so long without eating that I am taking any eating as a good thing! She gained 7 oz. in three months previously and has gained 3 oz. in the past two weeks!!!!!

How old is she? She might could have a higher dose if you think she needs it. You can check the marcikids website to find out for sure. That gain is good to hear. We really struggled with weight and it is so hard. Also, the tabs have lactose in them. Maybe you could try the capsules. They have by far been the best for us. You just sprinkle them in a little babyfood or cereal.
