Why do they get sick on vacation?
I just don't understand why kids think they need to get sick on vacation. We went to the lake house this past week. I left Wed and came back Sunday. Wednesday night (Thurs a.m. really) Aubrey woke at 1:30 crying and wouldn't stop. I just put her in bed with me. Then she woke again at 5:30 a.m. crying. She was so fussy all day Thursday and then Thur. evening she threw up. She was the same on Friday also. We pulled her off formula and soy milk and just did pedilyte and bland foods. It wasn't like she had a tummy bug b/c she never ran fever, she wasn't lathargic. I have no idea. I did feel around in her mouth and it feels like one of her 2 year molars is starting to come in. She just has a huge bump. Could that make her vomit? Last night she finally ate meat for the first time all weekend and she fussed last night about 1am, but not sure if it was a bad dream or she was cold. Ugh. Other than that the weekend was full of highs and lows-we went w/ the IL's... Hope everyone had a great 4th!

mom to Mila 2-20-2007
and Robby 4-22-2004
Mila is on Peptamen JR 30 cal by NG tube. Open Heart Surgery 2/08/08. Captopril, Zantac, Losec, Lasix.
Kids never get sick when its CONVIENENT! Why would they? Mila's been hospitalized three times... all three times her pediatrician was on vacay!

Yup a molar coming in is painful and is extra drooly.. If she's learned to swallow her salivia, it could certainly make her puke.

Feel better, pumpkin!

seamus' mama
Seamus was born 7/6/07, one month early with Silent Reflux. Zantac since 3 weeks old, currently taking herbs and probiotics.
I think they get sick when on vacation because their sleep is altered, and immunity is compromised. It totally sucks because its nice to chill out when you are on vacation, not nurse all night long, etc.. Hope she improves soon!

Last night was rough and her naptime was rough. I just wonder if I am missing something or if it is just this dang bump (molar). It isn't near popping through tho. This could be a long road...
