Allergies?
Nolan has red eyes. They put him on pink eye drops which seemed to be doing good until the weekend. He only has the itchy read eyes after being outside at my mom and dad's. They have more trees and such then at our house. He was sitting outside and just rubbing his eyes. Then they were bright red. So my ? is can you have allergies to the environment that is just in the eyes? He has no other symptoms~ no runny nose or anything else. Just red itchy eyes while outside. I'm going to ask the doc on Tuesday at his 9 mon check but I wanted your take. Thanks

Mom (Danie) to Adam (9-4-03) & Nate (3-7-07) Nate was diagnosed with silent AR at 2 months old. He was on neocate, prevacid 30mg per day and couldn't start solids till he was almost 8 months old. He started cow's milk at 14 months and is currently off all meds!! So far so good :) PIC: Disney trip 2008. Nate didn't know Piglet was there, he didn't like the characters too much.
Yes. My nephew who is 12 gets that way ONLY at his soccer games!! My sis couldn't figure it out...talked to his ped and she suggested clariton or benedryl before he goes to his games...that did the trick. That could totally be what is happening with Nolan. I hope it is a quick fix...let us know what they say. How is gma doing??

Tracey, mom to Katie diagnosed with GERD at 3 week.
Yes, I will sometimes only get allergies that affect my eyes. I know they have OTC eye drops specifically for allergy eyes but don't know if they are ok for his age.

Thanks for asking about Gma Danie~ She is home!!! But they are really going to look into getting her into an apartment this fall. Her big house is getting to be to much. Her heart was fine. They cleared the pneumnia and she was a totally different person!

Also thanks for the info. Hopefully it is "just" Allergies. Poor guy just rubs and rubs his eyes and he loves to be outside. I feel bad for him.

Melissa - Mommy to Sebastian, born 9/28/07 @ 7 lbs 7 oz and 20.75 in. At docs at 12 months: 27 pounds and 32 in! Good grief! GERD - currently on Prevacid suspension (liquid equivalent of 45 mg a day). Allergic to dairy, soy, eggs, wheat, all treenuts, peanuts, fish, shellfish, peas, sesame, bananas, barley, coconut, dust, dust mite, dog, cat, latex. Seasonal allergies. Oral Allergy Syndrome (OAS). Neocate only - no solids - until further notice (drinks and loves water, too). Loves his doggie, our rescued Treeing Walker Coonhound, Louise, even though he is allergic to her. Louise will make your doctor a homemade pie if you would like her to. PHOTO: We couldn't do a cake on Sebastian's birthday, but that didn't stop him from tossing around the contents of a big bowl of popcorn! He now tries to eat it when we play with popcorn, so no more of that game.... :(
I think you can...Sebastian certainly does. He has chronically red, itchy, puffy eyes even when on Singulair and not experiencing congestion. Our allergist thinks so, too. Unfortunately, he also told us we can't do much beyond what we are already doing....sorry, little man!!! I hope your eyes feel better soon!!
Check with your
doctor first!
