Germs?????
What do you clean with other than Lysol to disinfect your house.

I have the pampers clean up spray for the highchair and table. For everything else in the kitchen I use the Lysol kitchen cleaner.

The bathroom I use Soft scrub w/ clorox. >P>The bedrooms I use Lysol spray and Oust. I even spray the beds daily.

Is their something else that maybe you use to get rid of the sickness. I know it is my nephew bringing it home from daycare. We very very rarely go out unless it is to the doctor or their playdate once or twice a week. I know its not from the pedis girls b/c they aren't every really sick and they dont catch it from Bradden. I can not tell you the last time that we have been shopping or out to eat. I sometimes take them out to the grocery store early before it has alot of people. This may happen about every other week. Other times Michael will go for me. Yes I am still paranoid to leave the babies. They are now looking for me and if I am not there they will scream.

If you have suggestions please let me know. Help me please if you can. For the last month at least every single day one of the three babies have been sick...... I am so tired now of sickness. I am physically and mentally exhausted. I honestly do not know how I made it almost a year with Braddy deprived of sleep.

This is our dd, Alessandra. Dx with GER 10/07. Ran the gamut with meds and now done with them (crossed fingers). Using magnesium, probiotics and prebiotic supplements. With the exception of teething and general sassy attitude, all is well now. They really CAN grow out of it!
We use Clorox Clean Up spray - it's really helped here. Allie's only had ear infections with teething. Neither my hubby nor I got ill this winter, and I think it's because I switched from 409 to the clorox.

Melissa - Mommy to Sebastian, born 9/28/07 @ 7 lbs 7 oz and 20.75 in. At docs at 12 months: 27 pounds and 32 in! Good grief! GERD - currently on Prevacid suspension (liquid equivalent of 45 mg a day). Allergic to dairy, soy, eggs, wheat, all treenuts, peanuts, fish, shellfish, peas, sesame, bananas, barley, coconut, dust, dust mite, dog, cat, latex. Seasonal allergies. Oral Allergy Syndrome (OAS). Neocate only - no solids - until further notice (drinks and loves water, too). Loves his doggie, our rescued Treeing Walker Coonhound, Louise, even though he is allergic to her. Louise will make your doctor a homemade pie if you would like her to. PHOTO: We couldn't do a cake on Sebastian's birthday, but that didn't stop him from tossing around the contents of a big bowl of popcorn! He now tries to eat it when we play with popcorn, so no more of that game.... :(
In a pinch, I just wipe everything down with baby wipes. When I have a few minutes, I just run around spraying Earth's Choice Germ Control Disinfectant. It's green (which makes me feel better given that Sebastian touches everything) and cost about three or four bucks; I bought it at Home Depot.

TWINS:
Ella 5/3/05 GERD, asthma, hypotonia, food intolerances, esophagitis, IBS //
Ava 5/3/05 asthma, food allergies
Pic: My girls! They are getting so big!
We use Clorox Anywhere spray. I throw plastic toys into the bath tub with some bleach to soak, rinse them really well and then let them dry before giving them back to the kids. We also boil or buy new tooth brushes when we've been sick. The antibacterial Febreze is good for couches etc.... I don't know how much good all of that does but it makes me feel better. I do have to be careful about what I spray when the kids are in the house b/c some of those aerosol sprays can irritate their lungs. I like the idea of something green like Melissa mentioned though.

Mom (Danie) to Adam (9-4-03) & Nate (3-7-07) Nate was diagnosed with silent AR at 2 months old. He was on neocate, prevacid 30mg per day and couldn't start solids till he was almost 8 months old. He started cow's milk at 14 months and is currently off all meds!! So far so good :) PIC: Disney trip 2008. Nate didn't know Piglet was there, he didn't like the characters too much.
I use the Clorox Anywhere spray. I am not too much of a freak about it...I know that is probably bad. The things I am the most careful with are shopping carts and door handles. I also buy tooth brushes in bulk...after any tummy bug or sore throat, in the garbage the old one goes.

I change all bed linens 3 times per week (we have allergy issues here) and wash in HOT water with FREE AND SENSITIVE soap and NO FABRIC softner...it really irritates the asthma and causes breathing issues (for us anyway)

I vacuum VERY often since we still have carpet (looking to pull it out of all of our bedrooms soon) I choose not to use all the different kinds of sprays...just the clorox occasionally. The boys get baths every night, not in the winter tho.

Adam was in daycare for Nate's first year of life...I hated the fact that Nate would be sick all the time. The ped said it is just going to happen...I couldn't protect him from it forever. Nate is starting school 2 days a week in September...I am glad that he was exposed to it thru Adam in his first year now.

Coyle Eagan. One Year Old. Doing well on Cow's Milk flavored with juice :) Drinking two bottles of Go&Grow daily. Eating solids better but still have rough days. No More Silent Reflux-that I can hear anyway.. but puking again. Zantac 2ML 2X daily.
Every Monday I spray the plastic toys with Clorox Anywhere spray ( i just love that stuff). I wash the washables and put the non-washables in a bag with baking soda. I spray doorhandles, lightswitches, etc. etc. when i think about it. prob. several times a week. i vacuum three times a week. Fresh towels 2X a week. Beddings 1 a week (for mine) coys 2-3 times a week and yes, wash in hot water or you will not kill germs nor dustmites. We use Free and Clear or Tide Free as well.

i have a stepson who is very uncleanly so i understand what you mean. he must wash his hands everytime he comes in from the outside, before eating, and def. after using the bathroom. he is not allowed to touch the babies toys unless he washes his hands first. if you believe it is your nephew institute a frequent hand washing policy.

for us, everytime we go over to the neighbors (her lo is 6 wks younger) coyle gets sick. seriously! he's had 2 colds and both times after visiting over there. when he comes here i disinfect every thing he touches... but some colds are good in the sense that they are supposed to strenghthen the immune system. however, i can't imagine you having your LO sick so frequently when you have 6 to take care of!

i was just reading something that said that you should change your air filters every 30 days. if you can get those hypo-allergenic air filters for you A/C. this will help reduce the spread of germs and such. oh and everybody washing their hands often :)

Maggie is now 3 years old and reflux free (knock on wood). I still check in some to see how everybody is doing :) Hugs to all!
Hi, I'm late. In my opinion as a childcare person....not going out much can be just as bad as being in daycare. The kids need to be exposed to the germs in order to build up an immunity. I swore that Maggie's ickies were from the mmo, but now I know they weren't. It was just a winter thing. The kids there weren't usually even sick when she was. It was probably just as much my fault for not letting her touch anything :)

I just read other replies, I feel dirty, lol. I don't regularly spray with anything. I don't like spraying all that stuff. I figure it's usually worse than the germs, jmho. I guess if it's a sick time of year, I'd do whatever I have to though.

I do use the hypoallergenic air filters. They are like $15 but they last 3mos or more. I also use air purifiers in the bedrooms.
