KATIE'SMOMMY--I COPIED THIS HERE SO EVERYONE WOULD SEE. I FIGURED MAYBE YOU JUST DIDN'T SEE WHERE TO CLICK TO DO THIS. :)

Thanks Maggie's Mommy! When Katie was 3 weeks she projectile vomited on me one night after feeding and for the next week whenever I would feed her at night she would wake up about 30 minutes later with her head covered in vomit. I called the peds office to ask about gripe water and they wanted us to go in. She was put on Zantac and responded well to it. Every so often we would have to up her dosage as she would get very cranky and not eat but she was gaining weight so we weren't too worried. Ped. said she would soon grow out of it....she loved solid food and ate really well and would still take a bottle at night. She started to get bad again; not eating solid food and not taking a bottle; not able to put herself back to sleep at night and throwing up after almost every meal so we went back to Ped and in 2.5 months she only gained 7 ounces so he switched her medicine from Zantac to Prevacid. It was taking longer to help so I wanted to meet with gastro. and they started all the workup on her. We meet with the allergist on Tuesday; my mom thinks that me having milk really affects her but we haven't had any mucus in her poop yet so I am hoping its not milk allergy (forget the abbrev.). Little frustrated that her Ped. needed me to request a referral since she wasn't gaining weight but think he is just overworked and didn't want to alarm me. I am scared of the possibilities of what they can find but very glad to be actively doing something and not just hoping that her meds will continue to work. Since none of my friends have gone through this this forum is so nice to read that our Katie is showing the same symptoms as others and that other mommies out there are dealing with the same and harder issues than I am. Thanks for the hugs and they are more than returned!!!

Don't feel bad about the referral...most of the moms here have had to do the same. Once tests are done, hopefully you'll figure out what Katie needs to be happy and thrive.

With Maggie, when I had milk it really aggravated her too.

I know it is so frustrating not knowing what to do for your little one, but I think it'll get better for you soon!

Tracey, mom to Katie diagnosed with GERD at 3 week.
Thank you for the welcome! They did x-rays only to rule out a slow digestive track and we are trying to schedule the upper GI but the computers wouldn't let the doctors do it so I called the next day and they couldn't schedule it then so they want me to call back on Monday. She had a really good day today as my husband got rear ended a few weeks ago and it was just enough damage to total the car so my mom watched her while we went car shopping. She actually drank a bottle when presented with one and finished the entire thing in one sitting! 4 whole ounces!! :)
Check with your
doctor first!
