Bradden is going to be starting speech within the next 2 weeks. We are going to using the program at the children's clinic portion of our hospital here. There are several areas that are there. It is private and our health insurance will pay all but 15 a visit. That is our copay and he is allowed 70 visits a year. There is a free program here at the elementary schools for children 2 and up. Bradlee has been in it for 2 years and not had much improvement so that is why I am going the other route. I am also taking Bradlee to the children's clinic for speech. When he starts K in Aug he will get speech at school but I am going to continue him with the other speech too. Hope this helps you in your disicion for Nate. I would say that if the free program is like ours than I would probably go with the private one.

Right now we are trying to get them talking but soon we will want them to be quiet for just a minute. LOL How they grow so fast.

Mom (Danie) to Adam (9-4-03) & Nate (3-7-07) Nate was diagnosed with silent AR at 2 months old. He was on neocate, prevacid 30mg per day and couldn't start solids till he was almost 8 months old. He started cow's milk at 14 months and is currently off all meds!! So far so good :) PIC: Disney trip 2008. Nate didn't know Piglet was there, he didn't like the characters too much.
Thanks Carla. Actually, our program here is really's just that the speech therapists are few and far between...there is like a month or 2 waiting list. I got the phone call last week and we will have the eval soon. Adam went thru this program but he was delayed a bit in developmental which helped him qualify for the speech part...Nate is far more advanced than Adam was at this age so I think he may not qualify. He has been saying some words lately tho...really gives me hope. Our insurance really sucks (for lack of a better word, lol) so a private company will be big bucks for us. Let us know how it goes for Braddy :)
