Maggie is now 3 years old and reflux free (knock on wood). I still check in some to see how everybody is doing :) Hugs to all!
Job-ot but....
I can't help it. I'm about to explode. I've been interviewing and interviewing and I'm sick of it.

Today i just walked in a child dev. center and WOW! This place does everything I've ever heard that should be done in a CDC. I would love to have Mags in their program and would love to have a job there! She seemed to "want me". She asked me to come back and sit in on a class while the kids are busy and the teacher is there (she's on vac). I'm very very excited! Please pray for me and this job!

Mom of 2 great boys. Payson is three and healthy. Willis is 1.5 and has possible silent reflux. We are still working with his GI to get a diagnosis. He is on Prevecid 15mg.
Good luck! I'll be thinking of you! Can you take Maggie there if you get the job? That would be wonderful!

I have more time now....

I wish I could just call all of you so I wouldn't have to type everything I want to say!

Mags would go and that's the biggest benefit of this job.

THE CENTER HAS:

A STATE OF THE ART SCREEN FOR COMPUTER LAB AND MOVIE (once a week)

CERTIFIED P.E. TEACHER (once a week)

MUSIC TEACHER

and they have the two way mirror things inbetween all the classrooms. Basically, someone is probably watching you all the time! They have their own lunchroom for bkfast and lunch, the rooms are huge! Each room has like 7 centers. Their emphasis is math and science (my loves). The children move up as they hit their birthdays so it's not like you have a wide range of ages in the class.

Right now at our program, Maggie is in a room with little bitty BABIES. Not toddlers, babies. I voiced my concern and was given the reason and that was that. Basically I guess she thinks that since I'm not paying, I don't get any say so.

If Maggie has to be in a program, then I want her in a program that she will actually get something out of. kwim?

Melissa - Mommy to Sebastian, born 9/28/07 @ 7 lbs 7 oz and 20.75 in. At docs at 12 months: 27 pounds and 32 in! Good grief! GERD - currently on Prevacid suspension (liquid equivalent of 45 mg a day). Allergic to dairy, soy, eggs, wheat, all treenuts, peanuts, fish, shellfish, peas, sesame, bananas, barley, coconut, dust, dust mite, dog, cat, latex. Seasonal allergies. Oral Allergy Syndrome (OAS). Neocate only - no solids - until further notice (drinks and loves water, too). Loves his doggie, our rescued Treeing Walker Coonhound, Louise, even though he is allergic to her. Louise will make your doctor a homemade pie if you would like her to. PHOTO: We couldn't do a cake on Sebastian's birthday, but that didn't stop him from tossing around the contents of a big bowl of popcorn! He now tries to eat it when we play with popcorn, so no more of that game.... :(
I'm praying!! I hope you get it!! I cannot believe they would put her in a room with babies. I have never heard of that! I thought they moved them up around a year? That's lame. But Maggie is still cute on her log.

Thanks, lol. Yeah, our program isn't the best...I wouldn't say that to people around here, but I guess the programs are really geared toward a different group any way. Some of the ways we do things don't make sense though.

That is really surprising that they keep the toddlers in with the babies. They moved Halley up two weeks after she turned one - she's done really well in the new class. I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed that you get some good news this week!

Thanks Donnessa! Ya know, a lot surprises me, lol. Or doesn't I don't know. I just know this: the mmo job I have would be perfect as far as hours, pay, etc but my heart and gut tell me that it's not the right place for me or Mags. That's my biggest sign.

My director just doesn't get it, really. We voice our concerns and she doesn't listen. She has "reasons" for doing things the way she does it, but they aren't good ones.

I will pray for you that the Lord leads you where you should be. I am sorry that you aren't happy at the MMO. As for keeping Mags with babies... I know she wants to play with children her own age. They shouldn't expect her to stay with babies.

Maddie was in a center a lot like the new one. I know when she entered K she was at the beginning of a 2nd grade level. She is now entering 3rd and she is on a end of 5th to beginning 6th grade level. Her reading is a 7th grade level. I honestly think it helps dramatically b/c Kaitlyn never had any of this type of learning. They didn't offer it at her preschool. In school... That's another story that you know. KWIM. Keep me updated. Carla

Mom (Danie) to Adam (9-4-03) & Nate (3-7-07) Nate was diagnosed with silent AR at 2 months old. He was on neocate, prevacid 30mg per day and couldn't start solids till he was almost 8 months old. He started cow's milk at 14 months and is currently off all meds!! So far so good :) PIC: Disney trip 2008. Nate didn't know Piglet was there, he didn't like the characters too much.
Crossing my fingers...you know that :)
