Quinn Update (from Jessica)
I posted this under Jen's thread but thought I woudl copy and paste it here so that others will see it.

I talked to her today on the phone. They were admitted and even though Quinn is still acitng "normal" she was dehydrated. They put in an IV for fluids and are running her G tube at about 20cc's an hour.

That's NO where near enough calories for total nutrition since they have put Quinn NPO (nothing by mouth). They are looking to switch formulas to Neocate plus one and see if that helps any.

They are also considering a GJ tube to see if they can give Quinn's gut a TOTAL rest. That should help it to heal better since they have found blood in her G tube residuals.

She also had blood drawn and run for testing. It can back with some stuff going on, like a virus somewhere. That's also how they knew she was dehydrated.

Keep praying ladies. They are really looking to have a "team meeting" so that ALL the dr. can look at Quinn together and see if collectively they can figure out why she gets cronically dehydrated and why she has all these other issues.

On a GREAT note, Quinn did wonderful last night, no destas at all...which you know always happens when Quinn is in paitent and on a pulse ox.....LOL

Jennifer - 1st time mom. Lauren (6/1/07) diagnosed 9/07 with GER at 3 1/2 months. Prevacid 7.5 mg in the am. Currently drinking whole milk and eating great!!
No longer aspirating! Yippee!
Picture: Why would Lauren play with the hundreds of dollars worth of toys scattered in my living room?!?! When she could play in a box! Estimated move date: Oct. 3rd!
I think all her doctor's in one room would really be a great thing! I hope that they can finally get to the bottom of everything Quinn's got going on! Thanks for relaying the update Jessica!

Seamus was born 7/6/07, one month early with Silent Reflux. Zantac since 3 weeks old, currently taking herbs and probiotics.
Thanks for the update. It is so scary not knowing what is wrong with your child. It brings tears to my eyes. I am really feeling for Sarah and I hope that she gets some rest during all of this. I cannot believe all that they have been through.I hope that the doctors coming together will answer some questions. I am thinking about them tonight and sending my love.

Jakie and Sammy's Mommy. They were 32 week preemies- both with lots of issues. Jake has a TE Fistula and EA. Sam has a unilateral cleft lip and palate and a hypospadias. They have both had too many corrective surgeries than I'd like to mention. They are such brave little men!
I am also glad to hear of the upcoming pow-wow. That should help figuring out whats going on. They've got my prayers!!
