Mom (Danie) to Adam (9-4-03) & Nate (3-7-07) Nate was diagnosed with silent AR at 2 months old. He was on neocate, prevacid 30mg per day and couldn't start solids till he was almost 8 months old. He started cow's milk at 14 months and is currently off all meds!! So far so good :) PIC: Disney trip 2008. Nate didn't know Piglet was there, he didn't like the characters too much.
Why is he doing this / The mysterious FEVER
First off...I can't believe how many new parents we ahve here!! I am going to catch up on the many posts I missed yesterday!

OK...Nate went to bed fine last night and woke up at 3am BURNING up. I didn't even take a temp...I know that is bad but come on...did it really matter at that point?? I tried to give him tylenol 3 times and he finally took it. What is up?? It just came out of no where. I HATE when they just pop out of no where...he has no other symptoms! I FEAR it is an ear infection...we shall see tonight :(

Now on to my question...why is he JOLTING so much in his sleep? Do any of your lo's do that when they are sick? I'm tellin ya...when he cried out last night (you know that cry when you KNOW something is wrong) I went in and changed his diaper. He was awake and then I rocked him to sleep (I couldn't resist, you know that sick little pitiful look??) He falls asleep and man, he was jolting/flinching all over. He did it again just now. I was holding him and he fell asleep...I had to FIRMLY hold him so he didn't fall off of me. I just don't get that part?

Thanks ladies...I guess we were just spoiled for the last few months...NO fevers/colds/allergy symptoms/reflux flares so I really can't complain too much.

Hey D! Sorry I missed your call. I was on the phone with mom.

I don't know what to say about the twitching stuff. Is it just when he's sleeping? Maybe he's having nightmares??? Call me!

Oh, I hate to hear he is sick. Sorry you had such a rough night. Maybe the twitching is because he just can't get comfortable, I don't know. I hope it isn't another ear infection. With Donnie, when he has a fever and really no other symptoms we kind of look at possibly a sore throat, especially if he isn't drinking or eating much. Gosh I hate that it is the weekend too. Let us know how he does, hope he feels better! -Liz

Mary & Nicholas 7-17-03 (non-refluxer)allergies, asthma on Singulair and Flovent & Aidan 1-28-07(my refluxer)Nissen Fundoplication on June 20, 2008, FTT, MSPI, DGE, ear tubes, allergies and severe GERD now currently taking just Prevacid and drinking Elecare Vanilla 1+.
Hey Danie! I am sorry Nate is sick. I hope whatever it is it passes fast and that it isn't ears. I am sure you will know in the next 24 hours. Aidan does the twitching thing too. Sometimes he is so hard to hold I just have to put him back down in his crib. I think it is a pain response. I hope you get some rest today. Aidan has been sleeping like crap since surgery. I can't figure it out. He is getting teeth so maybe that is it. I swear it never ends. Keep us posted on how Nate is doing today.

Isn't it funny that i am so full of advice most of the time and I forget the important stuff when it comes to MY questions, lol!! I hadn't even thought about the fact that he hasn't been wanting to eat anything for the past 2 days. The sore throat makes sense, Liz. I mixed 1oz of 7up with about 4oz of water and some ice cubes. He guzzled that down and went back to sleep. He has been out since about 930am...plus he slept in till 9am!! Sleep is best so I am NOT complaining, lol. Thanks guys :)

I hope he is doing better. ((HUGS)) Its not fun to have our kidos sick. :( Mine twitch and flinch when they don't feel good or are in pain while they are sleeping. Maybe he was hurting... you said his throat (???). I always have mine drink as much as possible. Its good for a sore throat and when they have fevers they need more fluids anyway.
