esophegeal spasming
Does anyone have any information about esophageal and abdominal spasms? My daughter is 17 and has extremely severe spasming. We have tried many meds with no success. She is a severe refluxer and had a Nissen at 16 months. She does have abdominal migraines and horrible bouts of wretching. Any info out there?

I am so sorry to hear about your daughter's problems. We don't get a lot of traffic on this part of the forum. If you'd like to repost your question to the "general beginner and infant" forum it may get more responses. Or feel free to e-mail me if you'd like to chat.

I am wondering what you mean by abdominal and esophageal spasms. My daughter is two and she screams in pain sometimes. I still don't know what that is all about. if you could give me some information about what it is like for your daughter, it would be greatly appreciated.

She feels the spasming in her esophagus. Food gets stuck or goes down very slow. Severe chest pain that radiates to her back and sometimes her arms. The abdominal pain is quite severe, it can double her over and bring her to her knees. She says its not a cramp, some how she can tell the difference but I really can't describe it to you.

Hi. I responded on the other forum here. I'm fairly exhausted right now or I'd retype it but want to make sure you see it!

Sorry, I don't have any info on the spasms, but I noticed that you said your daughter has abdominal migraines. Have you tried Zofran for the vomiting? My daughter was diagnosed with cyclical vomiting syndrome last year and ever since we got the Zofran we have been able to stay out of the ER for dehydration.
