My name is KK and this is my storyHello everyone,
my name is KK and I have GER. I have had it for a little over a year. I have been on 12 diferent medictions and none have worked. I get bad heartburn and really really bad chest pains that sometimes cause me to have hard times breathing which caused me to quit some of my favorite sports. The doctors are thinking about scoping me once again to see what all this could be. I'm just really confused, so if there's anyone who has tips and ideas please tell me!!! Thank you so much!! If you want to e-mail me my e-mail address is email@example.com. I hope to see letters in my Inbox!

To KKDear KK,
I am so sorry you have reflux. It sounds like you have tried every kind of medicine there is!! It is a mystery that it does not work. I am glad you have a doctor that is helping you solve the mystery. Some kids need to try a special diet or stay away from foods that make reflux worse. Many kids cannot have soda, especially cola, coffee, orange juice and tomatoes.
I hope some other kids see you message and write to you. But remember, reflux is very common and you are not alone. I bet there is someone at your school with really bad reflux too. It might be hard to figure out who has reflux because most kids don't want to talk about it.
Good luck and let us know how you are doing.

Dear KKOh my gosh I have exactly the same thing except that I have severe GERD and it makes all my food come up after every meal. I 've also been on loads of different medications and none of them seem to work. My doctor is getting more and more puzzled. She doesn't want to operate until we know the cause and I'm getting really fed up. I have to lie to my friends about it because if I tell the truth they'll think I have bulimia, I learned the hard way. Nothing seems to stop the reflux, no matter what I eat, how or how much I sleep or changing my eating times. It's nice to know that I'm not the only one.
