I haven't heard that, but she may have some other info than what we have seen. My son has been on pedisure for at least 2 yrs now and has gotten pretty tall, thin as a rail of course. About increasing reflux, I think that is different to each child. OTC Pediasure increased my son's reflux but the pediasure enteral (he also has a feeding tube) w/iron worked really well for him.

We had to stop the pediasure. My son has intolerance issues with certain unknown foods, so this could have been the cause for him. It took me about a month to notice that's what it was in his diet. It was a subtle change for him. He reverted to not sleeping well, not eating and being crabby. All signs of his intolerance to something in his diet. Which leads to more reflux and not growing due to the not eating. This is just what happened with us. I'm sure this isn't necessarily what the doc was referring to, but just thought I'd share our story.

Pregestimil
My doctor GUEST that my son got reflux because he cannot digest cow milk. So he sugest my son not eat anything which made from cow milk and use PREGESTIMIL instead of milk (which made from fat of animal) and stop using all kind of medicine (Zantac, domperidone). My son reduce reflux just a little (however, he do not have to use medicine). However, since my son use Pregestimil, he do not gain weight because he drink the same amout of milk as he use Pediasure (Pediasure is 30% calorie more compare with Pregestimil), if I cannot give him more food and more milk because he will vomit. Whenever,my son eat, he always retches and want to vomit Do you have experience about this kind of milk or about gaining weight or about retches, please let me know.

I would say to maybe start this as a new topic and see what everyone says. Sounds like you need help. Call the topic retching and vomiting and explain it and see what happens. Try posting it in the "general, beginner..." area so you get more responses. Wish I could help more.
